Phone contacts in Proton Mail
Do you have or are you planning to create a Messenger service like WhatsApp or a way to use WhatsApp with my contacts stored in protonmail, I am using an android phone as well as computers and don’t like the fact that google store all my contact details as well as other things, I have imported all my phone contacts into protonmail and will try to use protonmail to make calls in the future, protonmail isn’t as user friendly to make calls unless you can advise me on how to make a shortcut on my phone to go directly to my phone contacts now stored in protonmail

This is a precarious situation: on the one hand, we hand our data to Proton to protect it. On the other, we want to be able to use the data in other apps, which potentially don't respect our privacy as much as proton does.
My two cents: allow integration/interoperability (that's what Proton Mail does, it also allows users to send e-mails to e-mail providers that aren't as privacy-first as Proton), so that it's easier for individuals to switch their primary storage away from data refineries (data is the new oil) like Google.
That still means that Meta (behind Whatsapp) has all of those contacts, but hey, it's one data refinery less. Who knows, maybe there will come a time when I can delete whatsapp...

Would love a contact app that you can have independently to use across other apps to load and unload. something that can be stored on the drive or locally as well

Default contact database
On Android systems, it is still not possible to use the contact data available in Proton-Mail as default contact data. The contact data used for phone calls or various messaging apps must be maintained independently of the Proton contacts.
Are there plans to build a contact app that provides the address data for Proton as well as for the other apps?
