Daily event summaries
Summary:
Receive a daily summary for all time-specific and all-day events (also if no events are scheduled)
Description:
Some calendar applications allow you to configure a "daily event summary" notification (preferably via email). Such summaries contain an overview of all scheduled events (all-day and specific-time events) and is sent early in the morning. For example, Google Calendar provides "Daily Agenda", described as: "Receive an email with your agenda every day at 5 a.m. in your current time zone").
Ideal implementation (to me):
- Create an account-wide setting to configure daily summaries:
* Globally enable/disable daily calendar/event summaries
* If enabled, allow configuring the time at which to send the summary
* If enabled, allow configuring the notification method (email/notification)
* [extra] If enabled, allow more configuration, for example:
> Send summaries X days in advance instead of the day before
> Send weekly summaries instead of daily
- Create per-calendar settings to include/exclude that calendar from summaries
- For summaries sent via email: send a nicely formatted vertical timeline for an intuitive overview
- [extra] Allow individual events to be excluded from the summaries
Why default notification settings are insufficient:
Proton Calendar currently lets you set default notifications for each calendar. However, these options are not sufficient to create proper event summaries:
1. Only all-day events allow you to set the time at which to send an email notification (time-specific events will just be sent a day before)
2. If there are no events on a day, no summary will be sent (ideally, I'd like to receive an email that says: "you have no events scheduled")
3. Default notifications are just "event reminder", not a summary; notifications aren't send as an intuitive timeline or other logical "summary" format

Trying to transition from google calendar but without this feature it's a non-starter.
