Disable Archive, Delete is Delete
Deleted mail now ends up in Archive which means additional effort to delete it again, Archive should be a Users choice and frankly should be considered like any other user defined folder. It's simple a place to put an email that you don't want to delete and frankly the user should create rules for what goes into folders. In a nut shell, I don't agree with the whole concept of a Mail app managing the users mail, the User should be the one controlling what happens with the mail. Anything beyond that should be a option the user must enable to use. One day finding out deleted mail is now in Archive and yet another thing to manage? Newsletter is another, now the user has to remove things that they never wanted collected. features are great if it is what the user wants, but should not be blindly enabled.

Archive adds another level of complexity that I absolutely do not wish do deal with. Let me manage what I want to keep and what I do not want. Archive is useless and a time-waster for me.

Would love to see this put in place - some of us do not need an archive. We have organized directories where things that we'd like to store are saved - and the rest needs to be trashed. I constantly hit archive by accident because the icon looks so similar to delete. Periodically I have to go to my archive dir and wipe it. Make it on by default but give us the option to get rid of this. For some it is utterly useless and an inconvenience.
