Proton Calendar Countdown Timer
Proton Calendar users should be able to add a countdown timer feature to an event. For example, a user schedules a wedding on the calendar and decides to toggle a button to enable a countdown timer. This feature would especially be useful on mobile devices and could be made into a widget or lock screen display.

Money waiting on a date is where a countdown really helps. When people ask on https://twopotpayout.co.za/ how long a withdrawal will take, the honest answer is a number of days, and they'd rather watch that number drop than keep refreshing their app. I'd happily switch it on for an event like that, especially if it sat on my lock screen.

Nobody I know sets a reminder for the day a bursary closes; they just plan to "do it soon." A countdown that shows only the days left, pinned to the lock screen, would work better than a notification that gets swiped away. Right now I count down to dates in a spreadsheet cell that subtracts today from the event date, and I sorted out that formula on https://xlaipro.com/. It works, but a one-tap toggle on the event itself, shown on the lock screen, would be far easier for something like a wedding.

I'd turn this on for exam dates and semester deadlines. On https://gradegpa.com/, students are always asking how many days are left before finals, so a countdown right on the calendar event would save them a lot of counting.

This would be really handy for anything with a fixed date. On https://sassagrant.com/, a lot of people ask how many days are left until their payment date, and a countdown on the calendar event would answer that at a glance. A lock screen widget version would make it even better.
