Notifications for Shared Calendar Event Changes
Dear Proton Team,
I'm writing to request a new feature for Proton Calendar that would greatly improve the shared calendar experience.
Current Situation: When events are added or modified on a shared calendar by another user, there is currently no notification sent to other calendar participants.
Requested Feature: Please implement real-time notifications (similar to Apple Calendar) when someone adds, modifies, or deletes an event on a shared calendar. This would allow users to:
Stay informed about changes made by family members or colleagues
React promptly to schedule updates
Better coordinate shared schedules without constantly checking the calendar manually
Use Case: As someone who switched from Apple to Proton, this is a feature I genuinely miss. For example, when my spouse adds an event to our shared family calendar, I would like to receive an immediate notification so I can see it right away rather than discovering it later during manual checks.
Why This Matters: This functionality is essential for effective collaboration on shared calendars and would significantly improve the user experience for families, teams, and anyone managing shared schedules.
Thank you for considering this enhancement. Proton's privacy-focused approach is excellent, and adding this quality-of-life feature would make Proton Calendar even more competitive.
Best regards
