Android App: "View entire message" jumps to the top instead of continuing from the current reading position
Description:
The Problem:
In the Proton Mail Android app, long emails (especially newsletters and subscription emails) are automatically shortened. When I click the "View entire message" button at the bottom, the app abruptly jumps to the very top of the email instead of staying where I was reading or expanding in place. This completely breaks the reading flow and is very frustrating.
Current Behavior:
1.
Open a long, shortened email in the Android app.
2.
Scroll to the bottom and tap "View entire message".
3.
The screen instantly jumps to the top of the email, forcing the user to scroll all the way back down to continue reading.
Expected Behavior:
Tapping "View entire message" should either expand the text in place, or smoothly scroll to the continuation point, keeping the user's current reading position intact.
Suggested Solutions:
1.
Fix the scroll anchor: Ensure that clicking "View entire message" maintains the current scroll position or jumps to the exact point where the text was cut off.
2.
Add a setting: Provide an option in the Android app settings to "Disable message shortening" for users who prefer to read long emails natively.
3.
Alternative UI: Add a "View full message" button at the top of the email that opens the entire content in a new, dedicated view without altering the scroll position of the original preview
