Support for larger attachments
I've had quite a few emails from family and friends bounce back to them because my email rejected the attachments at too large (only a few photographs). Larger attachment support would be nice

It would be great if Proton Mail could automatically generate Proton Drive share links for attachments larger than 25 MB.
It's a critical feature. -

Samar - an excellent suggestion that should be on the Proton roadmap. Here's my thing.
Gmail is free and we know what it is, that's largely why most of us Proton users are here. Am I right? I'm right. But when I'm forced to use Gmail because the email application that I pay for restricts me to 25 MB? Unsat and a bit irritating. It's 2024, all phones are producing hi-res images and 4K video. There's a practical application for larger attachment sizes, and let me reiterate. It's not a happy feeling when I have to use a free but compromised email app because my go-to PAID email app has attachment size restrictions like it's 2008. Other than that, I love my Protonmail and ProtonDrive. Please put this on our roadmap. -

Alternatively, have large attachments automatically uploaded to Proton Drive and then automatically share them with recipients with a link provided in the email

This must drastically increase or I will have to look for another email provider.

I use this paid service for Quickbooks clients. I send and receive backups of data on a regular basis. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE THAN 25MB of data for sending! Some backups can be as much as 210 MB. Free gmail provides for this (don't want to use), why does your paid service not provide this?

Can capacity to upload and send files larger than 25Mb be included please. The only way to do this is via an unencrypted user at the moment.

I use Adobe Cloud but cannot get it to work with PM???

Is it possible to increase the capacity for uploads?
I tried to upload 4 images each a little over 25 Mb.
These files were already reduced from original files of 50 Mb.There are special programs to transfer large files. Have not used them before.
I use high grade digital photo gear that generates these files. -

medium size attachments will not transmit. this is affecting why I use protonmail.com

Agreed. If someone receives newsletters e.g., even with a storage limit present at least you can receive them and save then locally.

Add an option where you can send an email with attached large files up to 5Gb. A download link will be sent in the email for the receiver to download the files when the email exceeds 25Mb. Similar to the way Apple's MailDrop works. Tnx!

It would be great because you can send encrypted files with time delay. Very cool option but current size is unworkable. I will upgrade to paid account because I want to support you guys, please allow for this in the future.

Yes attachment size needs to be increased. Would upgrade to a paid account for this.

tlen.pl offers huge amount of attachments, could be good if proton could consider at least up to 3 Gb attachments. This could allow users to transfer files/movies etc

I understand this limit for free users, but there shouldn't be limitations for premium users.

Perhaps paid accounts can have larger attachment sizes? I'd pay for that; this limit is part of what keeps PM from being my main email account.

I absolutely agree with you. I transfer tons of data all the time, and 15-MB is barely enough for 1 file, if even that. (Assuming the file(s) are slightly larger, than but near the size of a floppy disk!) We should be able to send and receive at least 30-MB of attachments or more. I wonder if we'll have fewer limitations as development of this site/service progresses?
On Gmail, Hotmail (a.k.a Outlook) and Yandex, I can always send and receive 30-MB of data through attachments on each message. As for data storage, I understand completely that this site is new, but come on, 500-MB of storage won't last long-- especially if you're using protonmail for business or secure data transfer.
