Open the next email automatically after deleting or moving the first one
When I delete a message I want to go directly to the next email, instead of going to the inbox and then click the next email.
This feature is a simple one, but when you have to read a lot of emails it saves a lot of time.
It is available both in Gmail and Yahoo.
Thank you for your attention.
Work on this feature has started, beginning with iOS availability.

It constantly amazes me how Proton ignores basic UI stuff like this. Webmail has been around for decades, just copy the basics that Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Fastmail, etc have all trained users to expect, and differentiate your product by its great security features rather than it's unfriendly interface.

I would want this not only after deleting, but on other actions such as marking as spam, archiving, or moving the email to another folder.

Coming over from M365 / Outlook for Mac, and this is a critical workflow item for me to triage email on a daily basis quickly. We were about to move our company over to Proton for Business but are hesitant now seeing something as simple as this lingering for years.

Does someone at Proton really user their own interface with keyboard shortcuts?
****, didn't know this wasn't possible. Feels like it's a standard thing that I had with gmail / fastmail for years.

When is this coming out? I want to switch to protonmail but this really slows my workflow

Simply put - this is the reason I haven't been able to stick with ProtonMail. And if I can't stick with Mail, then I'm not sticking with Calendar, Pass, VPN, etc...
Fastmail do it perfectly - an option in the settings. Keeps everyone happy.

Simply put: after 20 years with Gmail, I need this feature.

Which engineer want's an easy ticket with a bunch of cheering customers upon completion... it's an easy win and the professionals that are trying to use protonmail will appreciate it. Here is the user story.
"User does inbox zero. User opens Protonmail. First email in list is opened. User uses G+T to trash the email. Next email is automatically selected/opened."
The value prop being that the user never left the keyboard. Currently, after pressing G+T you have to use your mouse to select the next email - making the keyboard shortcuts nearly useless considering you are jumping back and forth from mouse to keyboard.
Once again... this is a super easy win. I have a visionary account because I've actually replaced Google with Proton. I think it's safe to assume other professionals (who are likely high paying members) are the ones upvoting this request. Casual/free users likely won't care for things like inbox zero.
Thanks for all the hard work you do! I love watching the progress over the years :)

Not sure what good it will be to add a vote and It's disappointing to see a highly requested feature going back to 2016 not addressed. It certainly puts pause in my decision to pay for and fully switch to Proton.

I'm also reviewing proton mail as a replacement for Gmail. I would really like to switch to proton mail or something else, paying for it would be a no-brainer for me. But the lack of this feature also makes me want to continue my search for a replacement.
But I see its been 7 years, so its obvious we should expect that it will never be.

This would take a front-end developer 5 to 10 minutes to change (source: I am a front-end developer). I am surprised how long this ticket has been open.

Hi - I would like it to be an option I could toggle on or off.

I keep checking in to see if Protonmail has added this, waiting to buy because otherwise this is unusable. It needs to be in the mobile and web app please!

As others have said this is a must have feature of any email service, please consider adding this ASAP!

Email marketing is one of the most economically efficient ways to spread the word about your business or make a sale. A 2015 study by the DMA discovered that email offers an average $38 return on investment for every $1 invested (ROI). Customers frequently check their favourite retailers' emails when prepared to make a purchase. However, as email usage increases, it might not be easy to stand out in overflowing inboxes. buy email accounts from

Implementation of this option is truly a time saver for those who have to focus on quickly sorting a whole lot of incoming mail. And this is also one of the key function for other popular email service (ie. Gmail). As this suggestion is firstly raised 6 years ago I guess this should get a higher priority already for the dev team?

The option to automatically advance to the next message is vital to productivity. I don't want to have to go back to my inbox, click on the next message, then delete. I'm working to completely switch over from Gmail to Proton, but this feature is a glaring omission.

Yes please allow us to customize this feature. I used to delete emails just by pressing delete again and again and now I have to individually select each email which is super time consuming.

It's frustrating to have to click an email then read/delete archive, then clcik again. An auto-forward option would be highly appreciated. As it is right now, it is so frustrating that it makes me question the whole product.
