I agree. I want to send plain text as opposed to rich text. Or at least give me control over fonts and sizes.

This feature would allow non-graphic mailers or automatic processing to be used on e-mails sent by ProtonMail

All existing e-mail services Gmail,Outlook,Yahoo , Yandex give me plain text for messages. Please do it for ProtonMail.

Is the clear formatting button still there ?
Because so far I have not found any way to send an email in plain text, which make protonmail just not an option for me.

The HTML email is terrible to handle and most people cannot and will not receive HTML email.

Users should be able to select from their account settings, whether they want to receive and send (view and compose) all email as plain text or as HTML. Also the selection should also be available for message-to-message basis.

If plain text is selected, the HTML-email should be stripped smartly, ie. quoted text should be inline as
> Old email here
> blaah blaah blaah
and orcourse each line should break at the 60 letters as per standard on plain text email.

The current "clear formatting" is NOT the same as "plain text only" email and does NOT work properly.

Also, by defailt, plain text email should be selected due to security reasons.

This function is currently available via the CLEAR FORMATTING editor toolbar button. However, it makes the text unuseable / unreadable especially when the text is quoted text from a previous e-mail during reply composition. Another feedback discusses this issue and the switch to plain text / clear formatting function should clear formatting WITHOUT clearing line breaks and tab characters, which would be considered standard text characters rather than formatting characters. It would be easy to implement because all PM would have to do is to exclude line break / carriage return and tab characters from the clear formatting filter code.

The ability to send email in plain text as an option, like gmail does. Some mailing lists require plain text so this would be very handy.
