Forwarding email from Proton Mail
It would be great if we had the option to forward email to other email providers. services.
Thanks to your feedback, you can now automatically forward emails sent to your Proton Mail account to any email address: https://proton.me/support/email-forwarding
Email forwarding is available for everyone with a paid Proton Mail plan.

Really? Is this function not implemented? REALLY???
Well, I will be another one that will not renew the payment.
This is a basic function. Just create it and write in bold red that doing so there will not be encryption or whatever the problem is. This is a shame! -

I need to go on holidays and can't assign my emails or tasks to my assistant.

The absence of this industry-standard feature simply rules out ProtonMail for many individuals and businesses that need to be able to route mail within and outside your platform. YEP IF I HAD KNOWN I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID FOR THE BUSINESS ACCOUNT.

Also echo all of these comments, Email forwarding is something you should allow your users to do.
In leu of this I will create a free (insecure) gmail account. send messages there, and then have those forwarded to protonmail accounts... which defeats the whole point of having a protonmail account...

Forwarding is highly required...

I need to forward banking alerts to my wife, who does not want to switch off Gmail. Please reconsider your stance on forwarding mail. I work in IT and manage an email platform for my company. I came to ProtonMail personally for the security and privacy and understand the consequences of forwarding messages but would still like to do so.

+3 for forwarding capability. I would like to make a custom filter that could forward incoming emails that meet certain criteria. That way I can auto-forward into evernote or auto forward to a text-message on my phone, etc. I want to do something like: if I get a message from such-and-such domain, send an email to my-text-message-email-address saying, "Check your proton mail." OR... if I get a message from such-and-such domain, forward the message to my Evernote email address so it is archived there.

Also vote that this functionality is enabled. At least to be able to forward between two different @protonmail.co/ch accounts you own.

I find it quite stupid that such a simple functionality is not available in Protonmail. I understand that forwarding mail can be insecure but at least let me make the decision to use it or not. Just provide a warning when users want to use auto-forward mail (with a link to a explanation why it can be insecure).

Why is there a problem with forwarding the *encrypted* mails to an external address? That way I can read the mails with a PGP-client connected to any mail-account I want...
Or am I missing something here?

This lack of forwarding is the only thing that stops me moving my family custom domain to protonmail. Some of us use the domain professionally and are happy to pay the current businees account prices, but for some of our little cousins, or elderly people that don´t want to move away from Gmail as proton is too complex, it doesn´t make sense.
Proton, just let us create aliases that get automatically forwarded, put a big red screen on it explaining that for those aliases we don´t have any security, and be done with it. These are accounts that get very little use, they are not going to overload your servers.
The rest of us would be a not insignificant customer, we are a big family and I estimate over 150€per month. In the meantime, we are staying with another supplier which is not Google, but is not encrypted either. Please please please.... -

Will not renew payment over the lack of this feature. I want a secure email, but to forward it to myself is a risk I am more than willing to take.

forwarding is indeed a useful and much needed feature, forwarding between different protonmail addresses should at least be available. We (the users) do understand, that forwarding to a Gmail or an Outlook account basically contradicts the idea of having an encrypted and secure email account. But on the other hand it should be our own decision if we do this or not and a brief warning during the setting up of the forwarding should be enough to get everyone to understand the risks of doing so.

This forum also covered this subject in ProtonMail Support (May 31, 2016 at 1:28 pm).
At that time the answer was "Unfortunately, we do not support auto-forwarding at this moment. We are planning on implementing this feature in the future." We are 3 years into that future. When will it become a reality? -

Yeah lacking this feature is the reason I am not using my account for anything new
