Forwarding email from Proton Mail
It would be great if we had the option to forward email to other email providers. services.
Thanks to your feedback, you can now automatically forward emails sent to your Proton Mail account to any email address: https://proton.me/support/email-forwarding
Email forwarding is available for everyone with a paid Proton Mail plan.

I was using a filter in Gmail to have all new messages from my business inbox forwarded to my personal cell. This was done by using mynumber@tmobile.net; vtext.com (Verizon), @messaging.sprintpcs.com, et cetera. It enabled me to deem when a business email needed immediate attention versus when I simply signed in. I would love to have this feature work for new emails in Protonmail.

check the other links in the knowledge base. Usually your existing email would allow to redirect all incoming emails to your protonmail to help the transition

How can I active email forwarding? I want to forward my all mail from proton mail to another mail. How can I activate this feature?

Overall, proton-mail lacks many features that the other service provides, like forwarding, filters. One has to consider if the trade off is worth using a very limited service in favor of potentially added security? For most people, I don't think proton is very practical. After a week, I found it is not something of use to me.

I want this feature also.
A work around is to have Thunderbird auto-forward the messages for you. -

Forward emails to any address is a very powerful feature that would be greatly appreciated
-- bulk forward to any address
-- forward based on rules .
-- if privacy is a concern, automatic PGP encrypt then forward. wold be great. -

I would like to see a redirect option instead of having that email forwarded.

Can I auto-forward some important mail like bank statements from my protonmail to my evernote email address?

Having no forwarding option from PM to other email accounts is really annoying! This is definitely a killer argument against ProtonMail.

I would like some emails to be automatically forwarded to an external email address. An example is the garbage pick-up notification should go to others in my household, or the grocery store receipt should go to my spouse, etc.

They'd need to be encrypted

If you need to.. Create a corporate style account type or sub type for where the account is paid for by an owner who has the option to hide or show the forward/redirect filter action to their users.
Please Allow me to implement my security policy for my mail!

The idea of "Forwarding mail from protonmail" to other services is a bad idea because the goal of protonmail is to avoid being read by the provider.
On the contrary the idea of "Mail Forwarding between ProtonMail Accounts" is a great one.

I would like the ability to set an auto forward to another email account. Encrypted or unencrypted, at least give us the option

This feature is critical as I look to migrate to ProtonMail

Forwarding SPECIFIC emails would require that ProtonMail have the ability to read your email. One of the key features of ProtonMail is that they can't read your email. Thus this request will likely never be filled.
A workaround: setup an IMAP/SMTP bridge (https://protonmail.com/bridge/) so your own email client connects to ProtonMail and decrypts your email outside ProtonMail's own servers. Then setup forwarding rules on your client.
Of course, at that point your emails are only as secure as the weakest point of either the computer/network you used for the bridge or your forwarding email address (and all the network points between your bridge and that destination). For some folks, that security hole is big enough to drive a truck through.

Forwarding from ProtonMail to another Email account would be really useful.
I have a custom domain name, so the MX records point to ProtonMail. I want Email to my personal account (me@mydomain) to stay on ProtonMail, but my wife (mywife@mydomain) uses Gmail, and doesn't want to change to ProtonMail. Currently all her Email ends up in my mailbox (as a sub-account), and I have to manually forward it to her Gmail account. I have a filter which automatically applies a label, but if the filter could also forward the mail elsewhere that would be great.
I realise that forwarding mail will not provide any security for my wife's Email. It's just as though she has a .forward file in her home directory. But that is fine. I also wouldn't mind all the spam she gets goes somewhere else too :-)

Yes please! I'm sure you can find a way for me to take responsibility for my own security issues without compromising ProtonMail.
