Forwarding email from protonmail
It would be great if we had the option to forward email to other email providers. services.
An Idea: If a mail belongs to a defined category or is from a specific sender, add an option to auto forward it to another e-mail address

I just signed up for "Professional" expecting business-class features. Shocked that I can't setup forwards for email addresses that represent system alerts, interfaces to other systems like ITSM products (helpdesk/ticketing), etc. PLUS am trying to move away from a expensive forwarding service used by contractors, family, etc. for which I don't manage their emails - i.e. they have their own email but I want them to have firstname.lastname@example.org. Is there a workaround?
Any news on this? It is a must to have forwarding capabilities.
I want to forward an email that contains attachements automatically with the attachements. Before I can forward the whole email to someone else I first have to download the attachements of the first email and afterwards attach them to the email.
I'd like to way to setup a rule that automatically forwards emails from a specific sender to an outside email address. In reality, I want to send a text to my phone when an email comes in, so I'd like to forward the email to an SMS texting service.
Setting to have emails that are received by one of your protonmail address to automatically forward themselves to another protonmail account.
Plus option to have your replies to the emails sent back through the original email address.
This is for someone who needs to change the name of their primary address for work and clients, instead of having to update all clients, there emails will be forwarded to the new correct address. And responses can be from the new address or back through the address they emailed.
please add autoforwarding functions. Maybe a good solution is to have a folder autoforward.
i.e. add email to a specific folder and it triggers an auto forward to certain email addresses.
For the love of Pete, please implement this feature. I can't move from Gsuite until this is in place. We integrate with Zendesk and need to be able to forward emails from ProtonMail from our support mailboxes to those special Zendesk email addresses, but can't do this with ProtonMail. Seems the only solution we have currently is to have Apple Mail running on a dedicated server with mail rules forwarding the email.... YUK!!!
Oof, yeah I'm a paid user but this will hold me back from moving anything else onto protonmail. I just assumed this feature existed & was surprised to find it missing. I only occasionally need this but those times I do need it it's critical. In particular I use this to forward emails to an SMS gateway (to send me a text) for when I'm awaiting really time-sensitive messages I want to make sure I don't miss.
Missing this feature will eventually push me to cancel my paid account & move elsewhere.

I'm sure there are sieve packages that support this - please include them!

I would use this feature too.
this is really essential

I just took a Premium account with DNS but I already have regrets because of this missing feature (along with lack of mail redirect on the DNS config)
Five years since this request was lodged. Can you confirm if this functionality is planned or not? It will save us a lot of time having to come here and continue to wonder.
Yes, autoforwarding in filters should imo be implemented. Maybe with an option to force TLS or sth. like that.

Fastmail has an option to deliver emails to another email/s, thus it is not a forward but rather a redirection at the server level. Such a feature should be possible, since changing the delivery address should be an event before encryption (ie before reaching the recipient mailbox).
A similar feature exists on Gmail: https://support.google.com/a/answer/2685650
Although I think Protonmail is a powerfull service, I am currently moving to another one.
The only way I am able to properly transfer all incoming email to my new inbox in real time is to set up a VPS with a graphical user interface, install Protnmail Bridge, thunderbird and set the latter to automatically copy PM emails to my new inbox.
Setting up a VPS for email transfer is not cost effective and is very insecure. I wish Protonmail's Team had an easy built in solution to that.

Why can I forward manually but not automatically? Is one way more secure than the other? Really?
When an email comes in to a ProtonMail email, it can be forwarded to at least two other ProtonMail accounts. Would be nice for visionary/multi user accounts since we have a single email address that needs to be received by several users.

Much needed. Both for integration with Zapier and IFTTT, but ALSO so we can forward important emails with "Declined" or "Payment failed" or heck even "COVID-19 vaccines available now" in the subject to our phone via SMS.. sounds funny but we truly miss this capability migrating here from gmail
