Sync contacts, calendars, and notes with native mobile apps
To sync with your cell phone and email - iphone calendar, contacts, and notes.
ProtonMail offers encrypted contacts for both web and mobile applications (https://protonmail.com/blog/encrypted-contacts-manager/). Calendar and note functionality will be released in the future.

Adding notes and calendar would be a big step towards moving away from Google for me personally. I'm keeping my google account for only these 3 features because I haven't found suitable alternatives (calendar, contacts & Keep).

vCard import/export for contacts is now implemented. what is left for synchronization is the ability to subscribe to a vcard server, such as an nextcloud instance.
using this, one would not have protonmail's encryption. however, such method is already in use for the mobile app, where the contacts are pulled from the phone's contacts. adding this to the webmail would be a nice touch.

Yes, wouldn't it be great to go away from google altogether? I would add the following specifics:
Contacts:
Categories (or Labels, as google calls them) and the ability to create group communications based on these labels.Field Labels
A different method of labeling field items. Rather than having Address (label Mail) and then Address (label Shipping) and then entering the same address twice for most contacts, I would like have a specific address for someone and then a modifiable check box list that would include things like Home, Mail, Jobsite, Location, and Custom. One address could be any combination of these.
