Sorting by date, sender, subject, subject A to Z or Z to A
Every other email I've used allows sorting by date, sender, subject. A to Z or Z to A (not the same as filtering by key word)

I still can't believe this has not been done. I see that quite a few of the comments including one of mine have asked for this for some years. Mine was in October 2020. I hate deleting without this feature. It is so slow, so I tend to have a lot of useless emails in my inbox. I still use Outlook for many of may emails partly because it has this feature.

I would love to have the grouping features of received emails from the same sender/mail.
I saw this feature in a different mailservice, it was lovely not having to scroll through hundred mails but having specific mail groups automatically by sender.
All emails from amazon, ebay, dhl, etc, grouped as one and upon opening it all the mails of that sender.
This makes it also easier to spot phishing mails -

Same - all my votes. I really want to switch over from google but the lack of sorting is rough when I have a few hundred emails to go through

A necessity. I won't pay for ProtonMail unless it has this feature.

If you search here on the word SORT, there are 242 references or ideas, that’s 13 pages of results.
Granted, supported functions, such as FILTERing have more, 404. But that is to be expected, since it is an active and available function.
My issue is not being able to sort my emails or contacts by whatever criteria I want wherever it resides, whether labeled or not. Filtering is not an adequate solution. Filtering requires I know the criteria on which I want to filter beforehand. Sorting does not. Sorting allows me to find emails I didn’t know I received and group them together by criteria I choose.
Ideally, I should be able to perform bi-directional and simultaneous sorts, but even being able to sort by any one vector or column at a time is preferred over the limited selections we have now.
Admittedly, searching on SORT results in some ideas being included that aren’t related to sorting emails, such as the oldest idea found on page 13 which references sorting folders.
But even that indicates a hole in the services being rendered within the PROTON products, why is SORTING an overlooked and under-delivered function?
What is the point of posting these ideas about SORTing and so few being delivered? What is the point of voting on the various ideas of SORT with the key complaint in many of the ideas not being delivered? Does voting across different SORT ideas diminish the weight of our request to add this function?
I added a SORT idea back on 22 December 2016, #3186. At the time I asked for:
1) Ability to sort by sender
2) Ability to bring up messages not assigned a label
3) Ability to sort by labelIt seems to have been deleted. On 13 February 2017 I reposted asking for the same features and what happened to my earlier idea? No response. Here it is four years later.
I like PROTON’s products and I am a paying customer for PROTON mail, but lacking this function is an irritant and makes using the product much harder to use than it should be.
Functions should be added not to keep pace with your competitors, but to separate yourself from them. This would make your products better and improve your customer’s experience.

Sorting (vs searching) by sender email would be VERY helpful. I have used this kind of feature with other email platforms and kind of disappointed that I am unable to sort by sender name.

This would be incredible time saver. Missing this is what keeps Protonmail from being perfect.

Beyond the dropdown menu of older vs new, and size of emails...very helpful when I have over 100 emails, say, from one particular sender, Otherwise, I have to hunt and peck, or do a global search for one sender/recipient in my emails...this also helps in reducing the size of my usage memory when needed.

I can right click a Google email and "Show" all from that sender. This is absolutely critical to sort out all the emails at once (for example, to delete), or to see all the communications. I love ProtonMail but it will soon be a show stopper.

Yes please. Also, when I use a mail program like outlook, proton mail bridge doesn't work quite well. So I can filter in outlook, but archiving mail won't work for example. So my 'workaround' doesn't work well either.

and also reverse date, for threads in a folder.
Currently the new mail goes to the bottom, not the top, of a thread.
The use case is receipts from a given store. They show up as a thread because the subject is always the same. For purchases however, you want the most recent at the top, not the bottom.

I would be useful to have the ability to filter my inbox by who the email is FROM. Currently only the "Conversation" mode is available.

Add size as a column and able to sort emails by size (largest to smallest or smallest to largest)

Have Outlook so I am accustomed to sorting by sender. Adding my Protonmail account has been difficult. Had it setup at one time but now keep getting login issues due to port settings. Had to delete it from Outlook.

This is a very handy feature that would really improve and eases email management. Yahoo currently offers this as a standard feature, however this feature is notably absent from Gmail. Thanks by the way recently for a very nice release to your your email interface, very nice work!

Allow mail to be sorted by 'Subject' or 'From'.

I was about to sign up for ProtonMail, but the inability to sort by sender (note: NOT search, but sort) is a show stopper for me.

Create a sort feature whereby inbox emails can be sorted by sender
