Dynamic filter creation
It would be extremely convenient to be able to automatically add an email address to an existing filter as follows:
- User has some folders setup already
- User drags a new email from friend@somewhere.com into folder "friends"
- Small dialog pops up to ask if you would like to add this email address to the filter(s) that send to the "friends" folder.
To make this simpler, you could have a default filter per folder, and this dialog would simply add the dragged email's address to that filter. It would then be simpler to check if this email is already part of the filter.
A small improvement but it would make setting up and keeping things organised very much easier.

To add to this, the ability to manage filters on the mobile android app. As well, the ability to jump to filter management as an option in the "inbox" section, without having to navigate to "settings" 1st.

This would make my workflows so much more easy, from an existing email, adding the sender (or adresses) to specific filters without having to go through whole motion of settings->filters->select filter->edit->add->next->next-> save ...

This is super important. It's such a waste of time. Plus, if you just think "nevermind, I'll create a new one", you end up reaching the limit of the number of filters pretty quickly.

This is what I'm mostly looking for! Also when applying a label to a new email. Even just supporting this for the "Filter on" button which at the moment only allows to add new filters.

Completely agree. It takes way more time than it should to add an email to an existing filter. Instead...for example, in the email with the desired sender, click Filter On > From Sender > Next > Add Filter Window Opens and at the bottom there's a link that says, Add to existing Filter. That then becomes a drop down that displays existing filters OR, opens a new window with the existing filter options. > Select and Complete.

This is a great idea! It would be very useful to be able to add a sender's address to a filter that a user has already made. The "Filter On" button in an email does not address this, because it creates a new filter.

That's a total game breaker! I wish we had that and also on the mobile app. Right now it's a pain to work work with filtering through the settings, for every email - copy, settings, filters, edit, conditions, next, next, save, back to the mail, and again for the next email.

I would like a quick way to add an address to an existing filter, instead of creating a new filter which is currently available.
For example: I have a label named “Friends”, and a filter which adds that label to any mail from friends that I have added to that filter's conditions. If I get a mail from a new address that I want to be automatically labeled with “Friend”, I would like to have to option to “add to existing filter”. Currently, I have to either create a new filter or go into the filter settings and add it manually.
I would like to keep my filters few and multifunctional, and this would help me do that.

I made a uservoice account just to vote for this and emphasize my support here. I recently switched to protonmail and this has been my the biggest thing on my wish list since switching. I would even pay a little extra for this feature if necessary. As a result of not having this feature, I have to spend about an hour every couple of weeks sorting through junk mail and adjusting my filters accordingly. I will elaborate a little on my use case below:
I use filters for managing transactional emails and newsletter-type stuff. For example, I want to be able to select an email and have a quick way to add its sender to my newsletter filter without having through a bunch of steps. More than anything I'd like to be able to do this via a swipe action on mobile. The functionality I want is actually very similar to the built-in "spam" functionality, except I need it a bit more customizable, because I have two categories (transactional and newsletters) instead of just the one (spam) and I also want emails in these categories to be automatically marked as read, which there isn't a way to do with the built-in spam filters.

I was going to add this exact suggestion and found out it already exists :)
I like to have my emails sorted with filters but as it is right now it is very tedious and inconvenient to set up, this feature would be really useful, hope to see it soon! -

This is one feature that, if implemented, would keep me 100% with Proton. Its irritating to have to go thru multiple pages / steps to copy / paste a new email address to a filter.

I think this would be great to expand on this suggestion below

I would like to add to this feature if dynamic filtering could also be something you can click when viewing an email to add to the conditions of already created filters what from emails you have received to choose elements visually. It would be cool to see/apply "conditions" by hovering over email elements as well as [highlighting] -> parts of the email that you would want to put as the condition.

this a million times. I've just migrated to Proton mail and although I could copy over my existing sieve filters - I still think this feature would be very useful to help organise inbox
