App selector within ProtonMail
I am unsure if this presently exists, but I think it would be beneficial to have the calendar and the contacts open in individual tabs so one could easily switch between the applications of mail, calendar and contacts without having to close the other tab.
With the new ProtonMail, you can easily switch between your ProtonMail, Proton Calendar and Proton Drive using the app switcher. The contacts widget is also easily accessible within ProtonMail. Give this a try at mail.protonmail.com today.

Point #2 is critical. I use proton mail for business and I would like the benefits of a private/secure calendar, but with the ability to invite people to some events. Thanks!

Calendar will become usable and valuable when you can click accept/decline on an invite in email and it handles the event being added to calendar, before you can't trust yourself to manually add appointments so can't use it.

In another Idea post I read that there will be a mobile app version in the near future: great! As for the other two suggestions: being able to invite others and be invited by others that do not use ProtonCalendar (yet) makes the Calendar functionality much more usable. Use case: my girlfriend would really like to stick with Google (and its Calendar, at least for now), while I'm trying to move to Proton more and more. We now use a shared Google-calendar. Being able to at least invite each other would make it easier for me to fully move to ProtonCalendar.

In the calendar overview all the days are black colour. I suggest a popup for events when u hover it and or a different colour for days with events. The colours could be based on the agenda eg business agenda red, family blue etc.

Yes, I agree with all three suggestions. I'd love to be able to check my calendar on my mobile device with a dedicated app. Being able to send and receive .ical appointments would also be really useful. I'm having to schedule meetings with people weekly right now and it is disappointing not to be able to just send them an invite, no matter what calendar app they might be using.
Thanks!

Thank you for the calendar! I think it works really well and this will enable me to stay with ProtonMail long-term. Also concur with sgsen's comments above to make the calendar truly functional (esp #2 and 3).

It's more a question, can I edit the colours of the beta calendar entries. For example make holidays green, business meeting blue, holiday red etc. I can find that option at this moment

Calendar would be more useful if...
1. could accept requests from people using google calendar directly (.ical attachment for example)
2. could add others to my calendar invites even if they don't use proton mail or calendar
3. (and more obvious) mobile app version -

I'm glad there's a proton calendar, and I'm looking forward to switching over to it entirely. One thing that would make this workable for me is if I were able to view calendars in addition to the Gregorian calendar. In my case, I need the Jewish calendar, but I'm sure there are other calendars which existing and potential Proton users would find useful or necessary.
