Critical Feature Request: Native Tasks/To-Do List for Complete De-Google-in

I'm in the process of de-Google-ing my entire digital life. I have the Proton Duo plan and I use the complete Proton ecosystem for my productivity—but I'm missing this functionality.

Previously, I used Obsidian, but after switching to Standard Notes, I lost my task management capability. I've tried Zenkit, then tasks.org, but it's always the same issue: either the encryption isn't end-to-end, or I still have to go through Google services.

For my day-to-day workflow and my PARA/GTD systems, a proper task management tool is absolutely critical. If this could be integrated into the Proton ecosystem, it would be the final piece that helps me complete my de-Google-ing journey and stay entirely within a privacy-focused environment

Please help me get rid of Microsoft To Do!

Would appreciate to have a to/do List to have a seemless experience.

I've been asking for a simple task manager for years now! C'mon Proton.

An app like google tasks focused on privacy. It has a Kanban‑style layout or list view. The tasks can be moved to the calendar to schedule. You can access offline on your phone and desktop apps.

I'll add my voice to the others. The inclusion of a task manager would enable me to fully embrace Proton for my personal organizer.

I can't fully switch until there is a feature like this. Thanks for the free trial, but it doesn't make sense to start a paid plan at this stage.

I hope to be back - but will have to look at alternatives - since this quite simple but essential feature for a lot of peoples workflow has been requested for a looong time.

Having the possibility to create tasks as simply as the Gmail solution (having the task list on the right in a column next to the emails) would be much appreciated.

I can't fully switch over to the proton suite until I have somewhere for non-temporal tasks to live. Using another app elides the privacy benefits and requires extra effort to reconcile reminders and events.

Do I understand correctly, that this feature is under review for the last 3,5 years? Will there be a decision made anytime soon?

I cannot convince my partner to move from Google to Proton, one of the reasons are the missing the Tasks feature :(

You're almost there! You're catching up to Google in functionality, but tasks are essential for organization. I join those who think this is what’s missing to leave Google behind. That and maybe improving your assistant, but that can wait a little longer.

One of the reasons why I don't use Proton Calendar.

A Tasks / Reminders app really is 'the missing link' in the Proton suite. Eventually, I found 'Zenkit To Do' as alternative solution for Apple Reminders, but I'd rather have everything in Proton.
