Folders and Subfolders creation for clean organization
We need folders and subfolders IMAP capabilities
Without folders organization the mailbox is unmanageable

Hard to believe that this was closed THREE years ago and there STILL isn't an option for subfolders
I was hoping I could use subfolders once I switched from a free to a paid account but it wasn't to be
If I'd realised I wouldn't be able to use subfolders beforehand I wouldn't have taken out a paid account, in hindsight I shouldn't have paid for a full year up front, I won't be renewing if subfolder capability isn't implemented by then

I just paid for the PLUS level plan only to discover no subfolders within first level folders ability. YIKES! I hate Gmail but at least they have basic features like this. Will need to reconsider and probably reverse purchase

Are there any plans to implement subfolders (Outlook style) on PM anytime soon?

Are there any plans to implement a hierarchized folder structure?

Without the ability to create subfolders I simply can't switch to Protonmail. Even just one more level would be fine for me..
- Folder 1
-- Subfolder 1This is currently the main thing stopping me from switching over fully and getting a paid plan.

It would be nice to be able to create a folder structure like the following
Company1
- Finance
-- Q1
-- Q2
-- Q3
-- Q4Company2
- Finance
-- Q1
-- Q2
-- Q3
-- Q4 -

Single line folder structure is hard to manage. I understand that people can organize their work using few categories, but there are others, that should filter mails wit more granularity. For example, I'd like to have main folder Work and subfolders for each organization I work. Labels don't solve this problem, because I use them to categorize message (hr, project, offtopic, ...). Please, make subfolders implemented, it couldn't be that hard to do that.

Shame this one has been closed, it really would improve ProtonMail for a vast number of users. Maybe some are fine with labels and a single level folder structure but I would love nested folders and the basic labels are they are, it would be amazing if it ever gets sorted.

Just spent a ton of time researching the best email - would have loved to pay for ProtonMail Plus, but not without the ability to create a folder/sub folder setup. Dang! If you ever get with it, let me knwo.

I have two clients who have asked for email encryption solutions and I would like to recommend Protonmail but cannot simply because there is no ability to create and manage subfolders. Once this feature is fully integrated I can recommend the product and possibly generate some enterprise corporate revenue for you.

I as well would consider moving my business email services if there were support for filtering and categorizing the inbox.

This is not complete!
Labels are not folders. It does make it easy to just focus in on specific emails based on the label, but it doesn't necessarily clean the clutter in the inbox. We definitely need folders please. OH! subfolders, too, please! Thank you! :)

What is the reason that the "sub-folder creation" function isn't added? Is there a technical limitation?

Folders and sub-folders is a good idea.

There have been multiple posts requesting the ability to add subfolders. This is one of the most basic and useful features of an email client. It's very frustrating to see the PM development team respond to these requests by pointing out the filters and labels. These features are not what we want or need. I've only been using the service for a very short time but my inbox has become unwieldy and cluttered. If subfolders are not added soon so that I may truly organize my mail I may have to stop using Protonmail. Please make this a priority. It's one of the most necessary features that virtually every other mail service has included in their platform!

To get to zero inbox I add a label to a message and move it to archive.

So it's June 30 2016 today.
Can we expect subfolders to be added any time soon?

would like to ability to organize our emails and sort them out to different folders. i.e. folder for operations, customer service, billing , etc. We want to clear out our inbox to zero so each one gets processed. Labels are fine but it clutters the inbox. That is the only thing stopping us to bringing over all of our email hosting accounts to you. Cant run an unorganized business.
