How can we improve Proton Mail?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Custom swipe gestures

    While the options now are hardcoded to "Trash" or "Archive" an email, if swiped from the left or right respectively, the power for the user to choose from the myriad of existing features should be offered at a custom level.

    I would like to "Mark As Unread" for example, this feature presently exists and thus should be a selectable option if it fits my workflow better.

  3. Self-destruct trigger (Mobile app)

    I suggest to allow user change the limit of invalid PIN codes, that triggers "self-destruct" on mobile apps (or decrease it to 3).

  4. Allow android contacts app access to proton contacts list, like signal

    I'm transitioning from gmail (coincidentally, doing just as you recommend) but I hit a snag: My android phone's contacts app can't sync to my proton account. (Though it CAN sync to signal, interestingly...) This is keeping me from cutting the umbilical cord between me and google.

  6. iPad iOS Version rather than stretched iPhone version please.

    Please make an iOS version that works for the iPad. The current iOS is the same resolution for the iPhone stretched out that has a cumbersome keyboard that stretches across the whole email view. The view can be a lot more effective and incorporate a higher resolution on the iPad. Effectively the app looks terrible and doesn't utilise the possibilities of an iPad Screen.

  7. Widget for mobiles app

    It would be great to have a small widget like it exist for the Gmail app on Android. Not sure it is currently possible for IOS.

  8. Printing from the mobile app

    Add the ability to print an email directly from the mobile app. This does not currently seem to be possible from the iOS app.

  10. Unable to attach local files from iOS (.doc, .pdf)

    1. Unable to attach files (.doc, .pdf) from local mobile iOS filesystem.

    2. Also unable to configure Protonmail client as default mail client on iOS when sending regular photos/videos.

  12. Mobile app for Jolla's Sailfish OS

    Hi,

    Protonmail is a great service, but protecting your emails is still not enough to guarantee privacy. Considering that Google openly admits it is capitalizing on all the data stored in our Android devices, and that Apple or BlackBerry simply do not communicate on the data that they collect, protecting our privacy will require more than encrypted emails.

    A new smartphone software company focused on software has been launched by former Nokia employees: Jolla (http://jolla.com/). It is focused on data privacy, and wishes to become an alternative to Android. It has already shipped a smartphone and a tablet.

  13. Add in pin password or touch id protection to iOS App

    Have an option in the iOS app where you can enable a pin password or touch id password requirement everytime you open the app. Something simple just to keep your email from being snooped through, if your phone is open/unlocked. If you've ever used the Serverauditor app they have a similar feature and I find it very useful.

  17. Allow access to password manager extensions for login on iOS.

    Now that iOS 8+ allows third-party extensions, it'd be really nice if the ProtonMail iOS app supported these for login (including the mailbox password).
