  2. Add a download option for email attachments in the android app.

    Proton mail app does not give a download option for attachments, like gmail, etc. I get a .pdf attachment, and proton says I can't open it. I can open pdf files on my phone, but when I try to open a pdf attachment in proton mail, it says no app can perform this action. If I cant download it, I can't open it. Should I have to use another email service, or spend a bunch of time trying to get it through drive?

  3. Allow Replies to Forwarded Gmail Emails to Use Original Sender’s Address

    Similar to how SimipleLogin already works, it would be great if Proton Mail offered the option to reply to emails forwarded from Gmail (or other email services) while using the original Gmail address as the sender’s address in the reply. This feature would be especially valuable for users transitioning to Proton Mail who still need to manage communications through their existing Gmail account. By allowing replies to maintain the original Gmail address, Proton Mail would help ensure a seamless transition, preserving consistency and preventing confusion among recipients who may not yet be familiar with the new Proton Mail address.

  4. Enable Setting Option to Select Sending Email Address

    In the settings (likely under 'Messages and composing') allow a checkbox with something to the effect of 'Autofill sending email address with default email'. This would allow users to always autofill the sender with the default, or have the send field empty, forcing users to select which email address they wish to send from.

    I often find then when sending new emails it is easy to forget which address I am using and often fail to switch. I think the 20 seconds for delayed sending is insufficient as well to mitigate this issue. This simple toggle box would address all…

  9. Touch ID for Mac App

    I'd like to see two interrelated features for the Mac app. First, a timed sign-out on the app. User could set a limit for idle time, after which the app automatically signs out. Along with that, the app should use Touch ID for sign-in as a convenience and security feature.

    We need to create a feature to allow Proton Mail application on windows to execute on background. If not, we will not receive notifications for incoming mails.

  12. Use local language model to prioritize mails, like Apple Mails

    Prioritaire emails dynamically with a local AI model. Can be easily done with a Small Language Model (SLM), similar to the already used one in the mail editor.

    Selection process can be established in two ways:

    • Either the LM is called periodically or at each received emails, a prompt insert all 20-30 last received one and ask a shortlist of 2-3 urgent.
    • Either for ez cc review mail, the LM is asked to note a mail (urgency, importance), notes are pondered and top 3 are displayed as priority

  13. Remind me if I use reply instead of reply-all

    It has happened several times to me that I hit reply instead of reply-all on an e-mail sent to several people. This caused problems in my work.

    It would be great if there was a clear visible hint when replying only to the sender when the e-mail was sent to several addresses, or even a visible button [add all recipients] to fix the solution.

    Maybe even swapping the reply and reply all buttons in the UI is enough, because it seems I often click on the first one. I find the icons not easy to distinguish.

  14. Notes & To-Do List Features

    To enhance productivity and streamline task management, adding a Notes and To-Do List feature alongside the existing Contacts, Calendar, and Security Center on the right side of the interface would be great additions to the Proton Mail environment. These would make it possible to quickly jot down notes and manage tasks without needing to leave the workspace. The integration would provide easy, on-the-go access to important reminders, and a help to stay organized and on track, all within the same environment.

  15. Sieve Script debugging/testing support

    Running Sieve Scripts on Proton Mail is rate limited, but creating and testing, maybe debugging new scripts sometimes needs a lot of iterations.
    While I do understand the need for such rate limits, it's a significant roadblock for any sort of testing. Thus my request to get debugging/testing features for filter scripts.

    For this purpose, there are two features I would like to suggest:
    1. The ability to test a filter against a select number of mails from the account, rather than each and every email. It would then list any actions performed on each selected mail, rather than executing…

  17. Tracking Links Protection in ProtonMail Android app

    I would like to request an enhancement for the Android app: the integration of Tracking Links Protection.

    Currently, ProtonMail offers Enhanced Tracking Protection on the web. However, it would be great if this protection could also extend to the Android app.

  18. Collapsible folders in mobile apps

    Some of my folders have many sub-folders which are not used often, so so having the sub-folders listed out in the mobile app can clutter the interface when I am looking for something else lower on the list in a different top level folder. On the web interface the top level folders are collapsible, if this feature could be brought to mobile that would be awesome.

  19. To choose language sending emails to external addresses (notification email)

    The "confidential email" notification that the recipient gets when sending to an external address is in english whatever the interface language is.

    Having de ability to send the notification in the same language or choosing a language manually would be pretty useful (as Tutamail does).

    Some of my recipients can't read english and think the notification is spam.

  20. Display SPF, DKIM and DMARC check results in email details

    When viewing the original email, Gmail tells you whether the checks passed, for example:
    SPF: PASS
    DKIM: PASS
    DMARC: PASS
    I use the most expensive Proton subscription and still don’t have this feature. It will be very helpful to see these checks in the details of the letter. Thanks for considering this idea.
