Updated command Line Interface (CLI)
If you need this feature immediately, you can still use our old (v3) CLI tool: https://protonvpn.com/support/linux-vpn-tool/

Please bring back the CLI to the VPN! It's very important to me to be able to switch the VPN on or off when I don't have access to the GUI. Other popular VPN providers provide a CLI, and even a simple one would be better than nothing!

The linux VPN GUI app is in a terrible shape. It is baffleing to me the there's no longer a CLI! Bring the CLI back, I dont even want to touch that terrible GUI.

Removing the Proton VPN CLI for Linux is a really bad idea, and it means going against minorities. The minorities that made Proton the big corporate it is nowadays.

I am waiting for this cli for a very long time now. The old version was so easy, very straight forward and super efficient.
The Linux GUI is really poor/ugly and heavy to load.
In V3, many commands are available to check connection status, servers, protocols, cypher, option status, etc. -

It way faster when the cli was available on Linux. On Fedora, the GUI takes a while to start.

Really looking forward to new cli without gnome dependencies.

Would like windows command line switches to: connect to server, disconnect, change server, blacklist server, and get current server name.
Heck, if its easier, how about a second mini exe file that does all of this.
