could we perhaps get a client without systemd on linux?
Pretty please? I just want to connect from my systemd-less distros and I will need to just switch to another VPN if I am unable to do that for well, obvious reasons.

It is possible to install *.deb packages with "dpkg -i file_name.deb" on debian systems without systemd.

Maybe a version without systemd? Because some linux systems does not support it f.e. Devuan (Xfce).

other than portability to non systemd distros, is there any gain to put in the engineer hours for this?
systemd is used in the most popular distros and proton so far only supports ubuntu and fedora running gnome
