  4. A Raycast extension for Proton VPN

Raycast is a blazingly fast, totally extendable launcher. It lets you complete tasks, calculate, share common links, and much more.

  5. Show dock / taskbar tooltip in Ubuntu

Not all, but lots of programs have a tooltip on mouseover on the dock / taskbar.
For ProtonVPN I had the wish of being informed on mouseover: "Connected to AB-CD#99".
    (Similar for ProtonMail "Connected: myemailaddress@proton.me")

  6. Sign in automatically when opening browser, connect automatically

In Firefox I have to sign in every time I open the browser, then hit the connect button. I would also like to be able to set a default vpn to connect to, and have favorite servers listed at the top so I don't have to search. Also would like to stop those pop up windows that show up on every tab until I cancel them asking for credentials.

  7. Obfuscated servers

Create obfuscated servers and make them available for all platforms (windows to router configuration). This to enhance more privacy, as well bypass censorship to connect to/from VPNs and other restrictions. With this, VPN traffic would look like any old regular internet traffic to ISPs, government, private companies or streaming services, hence, can’t see that connection is from a VPN service. Pros of this, navigate the internet normal and have most of the regular services available on webpages to streaming libraries.

  9. Monochromatic Sytstem Tray Icon - (Windows)

I've been using Mullvad VPN and love the option to use a Monochromatic System Tray Icon. It makes the VPN appear as a native feature built into the OS instead of a clunky third-party application. With a Monochromatic System Tray Icon, users would psychologically think of Proton VPN as a natural part of their workflow.

  10. Add existing Android settings to Android TV

Today, there is no "Settings" section in Android TV app, which means it is impossible to activate features like NetShield, which would be very convenient to avoid ads on TV.

  11. Keyring program support on Linux

On Linux, the dbus-system allows the use of other keyring-programs, e.g. KeePassXC.

Proton-VPN only accepts Gnome-Keyring or KWallet.

As Proton-Mail Bridge already works fine with KeePassXC, it should be possible for ProtonVPN to use the same tool.

  13. Change email account used to purchase VPN

🏓For personal information security reasons, I need you to add the feature to change the Email previously registered to purchase VPN to a new Email Account, this helps users have more options to hide the Email Account name origin + With the feature of setting a password for VPN, it helps hide the name of the VPN Account being used from the prying eyes of unwanted people.

  14. Disposable browser tabs

There is a broswer extension called SquareX, that allows us to have "Disposable" broswer tabs. This basically means that the browser tab itself runs in the cloud, which is more or less the perfect secure and private way to do anything in the Internet.
But as a free service it has pretty big limitations, most importantly related to the quality.
I think if Proton can offer a similar service with thier paid VPN plans, but with offering at least stable 1080p 60fps quality, that could elevate the entire service to another level compared to the competition.
    Ofc i have only…

  15. Password Protect Proton VPN to lock settings & block ability to exit or disconnect

Proton VPN could really use ability to lock the settings & block ability to exit or disconnect.

It needs this to prevent kids from making changes or other users from making changes, exiting, or disconnecting.
Somewhat similar to what is used with Proton Pass Security but need to also prevent the ability to exit or disconnect, or to switch servers.

  17. AI Routing & Country Group Servers based on Load, Real Time Packet Source Stream Encryption

During computer boot up, the VPN server selected at startup, fails to respond and connect, this happens on all my family computers on our local private network. The solution is to manually select a different country or server within the VPN System. It would be nice if AI could poll the servers, and select a different server from the users group of servers for that country, if the selected server fails to connect properly using the various protocols. In a selected country. The AI system could automatic reroute to a group chosen server from user preferences. AI then offers remote…

  18. Multi server hop

Currently using a service called portmaster that has a very interesting feature that mimicks TOR browser server hopping. Instead of offering a basic VPN service it jumps between multiple servers. Their service is called SPN. I think that is a very great idea and maybe proton VPN could implement something similiar, maybe as an advanced setting for extra privacy.

  20. profile manager

    Hello dear Proton team.

    New feature: Profile list arrangement.

In the profile manager window, we should be able to arrange the listing of the profiles in the order the user prefers,
and not the standard sorting that the app provides.
If for example the user has several profiles, (and maybe some of them in a different language) and the ones they use are further down the list,
they have to scroll down through the profiles to find the one they need, which in many cases has to change quite often during usage time.
And it should be easily done by…
