  2. Show Hosting Provider Info in Server List

Please add hosting provider info directly in the ProtonVPN app, displayed alongside the server name (e.g. PL#81 – DataCamp).

Or even better, add categories for hosting providers, just like cities currently are, so users can quickly find all servers from a specific provider that work best with their ISP.

For example, my ISP performance varies by provider:

    - Excellent with Datacamp Limited (DataPacket)
    - Decent with PV-SL-HOSTED-Warsaw-Network
    - Terrible with M247

Currently, I have to connect to multiple servers and check my IP info to find a provider that works well, which wastes several minutes and is very annoying.

  3. Choose Favorite server on Apple TV

Add just on top of "Recommended" on Apple TV "Favorites" where we would be able to choose our favorite connections for quick access.

  4. Proton VPN’s kill-switch isn’t Direct-Boot aware on GrapheneOS

On GrapheneOS, the updater runs before first unlock (BFU) to grab security patches, but Proton VPN’s kill-switch isn’t Direct-Boot aware. Enabling it brings up the VPN UI BFU, yet no network ever connects, so updates fail until you unlock the device.

    Repro:

Install Proton VPN on GrapheneOS (e.g. Pixel 6 Pro 2025.05.15)

    Turn on kill-switch

Reboot and stay at lock screen

Watch the BFU updater time out for lack of network

    Impact:
Devices miss critical patches until next unlock, extending exposure to exploits.

    Fix:
    • Mark the VPN service as android:directBootAware="true" in AndroidManifest.xml
    • Move its config/certs into Device-Protected Storage…

  5. Linux app for arm64 GUI and CLI

Hello, like many users, I use a low-power ARM64 machine for P2P downloads via Torrent. The problem is that there isn't a Linux ARM64 application yet, which prevents me from setting up the Port Forwarding as explained in the guides, since I have to use it through WireGuard instead of the official app.Is this release planned? Thanks.

  7. Auto switch server in the same country when current server usage is too high

Sometimes, when i'm connected to the VPN, the server i'm currently connected on gets a high load and my connection starts to slow down.
So it would be nice to have an optional setting that could automatically switch to server with less load in the same country you were connected in in order to make the connection fast again.
Also maybe make users be able to choose what load percentage they consider as high load, and also be able to control this setting for different profiles.

  8. Disable certain States

We need a way to disable VPN from connecting to servers in certain States such as Arizona, Georgia, or Texas which have restrictive internet laws.

  9. Submit Linux package updates in official distro repos

Proton VPN is open source and uses well-known and established components of the NetworkManager stack. Due to these two things, there is virtually nothing standing in the way of the Proton VPN team from building and submitting packages officially to Linux distributions like Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, EPEL, etc. Proton VPN is further enhanced by packaging upstream by increasing the availability of Proton VPN software packages in the global software package mirroring network (deterring censorship) and benefiting from improved transparency and openness by building packages through distribution-supported build systems, which are often reproducible.

The policies of most distros are friendly to…

  11. IP & Domain Filter / Denylist

I would like to have the option to block some IPs or domains like X.com to prevent me from using them.
Simple feature to NetBlock or separate.
    Exactly like Denylist in NextDNS.
I can't set custom DNS when NetShield is enabled.

  12. Chrome Proton VPN Extension: Randomized server for subscribed account

This is so weird. I have a family plan.

For free accounts using the Proton VPN browser extension, it just connects to whatever server is available, but for accounts that are paid, there doesn't seem to be a way to have that functionality.

I would like to be logged in to the Chrome Proton VPN browser extension, but I would like it to be randomized each time I launch Chrome, just to make it so I don't have the same IP address every time.

This would be super helpful, and I can't imagine that it would be difficult to implement,…

  13. Low Profile VPN Servers/IPs

Almost all Proton IPs are polluted with bad reputation due to various malicious acts made through its VPN. This is really really annoying for good users.

I think a large percentage of malicious acts made on Proton VPN servers are done via new accounts that are pretty quickly banned by Proton and by victims- but it still leaves a bad trace on the history of that ip.

I propose a solution that could at least reduce ip pollution for quite a few users- what if we had few servers (or ips) that you only get access to after a year…

  15. Launch Linux GUI app on boot

I saw a completed post asking the Linux app on boot, but I guess it is not the GUI version, or perhaps not the one for Fedora.

For me on Fedora with the GUI version I have to manually launch Proton VPN every time.

    By manually launching Proton VPN:
    1 - The system remains unprotected for a certain time;
    2 - Creates a needless ritual for every session;
3 - Nullifies the purpose of the kill switch.

~/.config/autostart/ , Startup applications or GNOME extensions does not work because the GUI fails to connect during login. Only the kill switch starts…

  18. Add a feature to the Android version of Proton VPN that allows you to choose which apps can access the internet.

Add a feature to the Android version of Proton VPN that allows you to choose which apps can access the internet. This is different from split tunneling; it would give you the ability to block full internet access for apps that don't need it.
There are already apps that do this, but they use a VPN themselves and therefore cannot be used with Proton VPN.

  19. I2P

I’d like to propose adding native support for the Invisible Internet Project (I2P) to enhance Proton VPN’s offerings.

I2P is a decentralized, anonymizing network that enables secure, private communication, complementing Proton’s existing Tor support. Integrating I2P could:

Appeal to privacy-focused users who use I2P for secure browsing, messaging, or file sharing.
Position Proton VPN as a leader in supporting multiple anonymity networks.
Simplify setup for users, as manual I2P configuration with VPNs can be complex.
Suggested features could include dedicated I2P servers, one-click connectivity (similar to your Tor integration), or optimized settings for I2P traffic (e.g., port forwarding or split…
