3. ProtonVPN CLI on Boot (systemd)

   Launching ProtonVPN on Boot

   Linux users often uses a dedicated machine to store local services.
   It is very important for us to have the ability to enable VPN and Killswitch feature before connecting to Internet.

   Actually, It is possible to configure a systemd service using Wireguard config or OpenVPN config but no KillSwitch feature is ready "out of the box", but It would be very nice to have an OpenVPN CLI that can be used on systemd.

5. Improve stability accross Android and OSX

   On my Android and OSX, I use the free version of Proton. I notice that the client is not stable at all, often just timing out or me having to reconnect 2-3 times, especially after standby.

   Any improvements in stability would be a boon.

6. Add Quick Share Support to Split Tunneling

   Split tunneling does not allow adding or excluding Android Quick Share. Quick Share is a key Android system feature for transferring files between the phone(s) and a laptop. Since it is a system app, Proton VPN does not provide a way to exclude it from VPN filtering or add specific rules for it.

   Steps to reproduce:

   1. Enable Proton VPN on Android.
   2. Open Split Tunneling settings.
   3. Try to add or exclude Quick Share.
   4. Attempt to transfer files to a laptop using Quick Share.

   Expected behavior:
   Quick Share should be available in Split Tunneling settings, or there should be a way to create rules for it so file transfers can work while VPN is enabled.

   Actual behavior:
   Quick Share cannot be added or excluded because it is treated as a system app. File transfer requires disabling the VPN every time.

   Impact:
   This is critical because users must turn off VPN whenever they need to transfer files using Quick Share.

   Would it be interesting to choose a server from the country of origin or a normal server (in the country of origin) or smart routing (outside the country of origin), as the latency and speed would help solve the problem.

9. Preventing Fake AI influencers across multiple platforms

   With the rise of AI , fake influencers are targeting the market. Most of these "experts" or "real life stories" dont exist. If proton had an option to filter or block AI vs real products it would be great. I know this wouldn't be an easy task, but with so many being targeted by AI , Proton could provide security from what is real vs generated.

12. Request for an "App-Specific Block Log" feature

    Suddenly, my smartphone's temperature rose to 43°C, and ProtonVPN's battery usage reached 38%. Upon checking, I found that while connected to the fastest server, NetShield had blocked 200 trackers in just 30 minutes.
    After switching to SecureCore, the number of trackers was cut in half, and the temperature dropped to 24°C.
    ProtonVPN used the most power, while Brave Nightly used the most data. This doesn’t tell us who the culprit is.
    Just as I turned NetShield off, a "ClearNote consent pop-up" appeared. Although the Google Play Store stated that no data would be shared with third parties and that no data would be collected, it suddenly asked me to consent to the use of my data.
    There were too many detailed terms and conditions, and there wasn’t a simple “Disagree” button. I couldn’t go back or close the app, so I had to turn off the power to resolve the issue.
    I enabled NetShield in SecureCore and began migrating and deleting ClearNote data. Then I uninstalled it. During this process, which took about an hour, it blocked 900 trackers. After uninstallation, the number of blocked trackers dropped to about 50 per hour.
    I would like to keep NETShield enabled at all times, but in situations like this one—where “you can’t identify the culprit unless you turn it off”—the security risk is too high, so it should generally remain enabled. That’s why I’d like it to display a list of blocked trackers, just like Brave does.

    Hi Team,

    I would like to request an optional manual port selection feature for WireGuard (UDP/TCP) and other supported protocols.

    For IPTV users, network performance can vary significantly depending on the port being used. Some ISPs throttle or prioritize traffic differently, and being able to switch between server-supported ports (e.g., UDP 53, 80, 443, 51820, etc.) could greatly improve streaming stability and reduce buffering.

    The current Auto mode should remain the default, but an Advanced option for manual port selection would be extremely valuable for power users.

    For example, Windscribe VPN already offers an optional manual port selection feature directly within the app. A similar implementation in Proton VPN would be greatly appreciated, especially for users who rely on IPTV and other latency-sensitive applications.

15. ProtonVPN for OpenSUSE

    Flatpak sand-boxing makes a fully functioning VPN client difficult. While I still think it's a good option to push the VPN client to more Linux distros, if that isn't an option, I'd like to see an OpenSUSE supported VPN client.

16. could we perhaps get a client without systemd on linux?

    Pretty please? I just want to connect from my systemd-less distros and I will need to just switch to another VPN if I am unable to do that for well, obvious reasons.

17. AmneziaWG / Xray-core for bypassing DPI and allowing proper access and performance

    Many countries block WireGuard completely and even cause issues and blocking with OpenVPN (which is already quite bad performance wise)

    It would be great to implement AmneziaWG or/and Xray-code to allow bypassing DPI and properly connecting to VPNs, which would help with many things, especially for those who benefit greatly from VPNs in developing/poor countries or countries that have strong censorship, while maintaining performance, bandwidth and ease of use

    I believe this is quite important, some countries have issues connecting to ProtonVPN at all due to the blocks these countries enforce

19. Show basic stats in iOS ProtonVPN App and use Stats to connect to optimal server

    I wish the iOS could show some basic stats such as: ping time, data upload in past hour/day, data download in past hour/day, max up/down speeds over different time windows.
    Next step would be to use the ping data or max speeds to make connection choices - like to reconnect to another server in that country (or a set of countries) based on lowest ping or highest speed server.
    At the moment it feels like some of the WiFi networks I connect to might be traffic shaping and I wish ProtonVPN would seek out and reconnect to better servers when performance is poor.

20. Detect when a server has high latency or slow speed and automatically change servers

    Sometimes my connection speed seems to become very slow. I often disconnect and reconnect to re-establish a decent connection speed. It would useful if profiles allowed for an option to automatically change servers when high latency or slow speed is detected.

    The option could select to reconnect to the best server in the same country or region or globally - based on a function of latency and speed.
