Why the need to reinvent the wheel at every step? Why not let Proton Calendar be an Android Calendar app, so I can use other calendars and sync events to things like my smartwatch? Will we also have to wait at their own clumsy pairing thingy implementation?

More like between important and critical. Heck, I'll even do caldav if that's all you can provide.

If I could buy 10,000 votes to bump this up the dev's priority list, I would! An absolute must for me. I cannot transition away from iCloud Calendar until this is implemented. A corresponding sync with iOS's calendar app is necessary too.

I need a way to share my Proton calendar with my work Outlook. Is this possible? The link provided by the Proton system does not seem to work.

Would like to hear any updates on this as well. I would love Proton Bridge to support syncing with Calendar on Thunderbird. I finally decided to get Proton Plus (considering Proton Family in the future). This is really necessary for me to take this further. I am sure I cannot upgrade my family to Proton or myself to Proton Unlimited without this option.

It's great that we can use Bridge to access email in third-party clients, but since meeting invites get sent by email and you need to be able to open them in an application when you get them, it really doesn't make sense that we can't use Bridge or something like it for calendar too. Of course I get that the underlying technology is different (WebDAV is not IMAP/SMTP) but from a user perspective it makes no sense for email to work and not calendar.

I am using macOS as my personal computer and would like to use the macOS Mail and Calendar App as my main applications.
Although there is now a Proton Mail app with both features available, they are not well integrated into the OS. The Proton Mail app does not work property offline, takes up too much memory and %CPU compared to the macOS apps.
I am also used to the macOS apps and want to stick with them rather than the web-based (neutron?) Proton Mail app.
It would therefore be useful to make the calendar available through the existing Proton Mail Bridge app so that it can be connected with macOS Calendar app, or any other Calendar/Mail application people are using.

Is there any news on this, it has been a while and this feature still does not seem to have been considered?
I'm not happy with using the Proton Mail new macOS Applications as my main Calendar application, as the app has some limitations. For one, the app takes up too much memory and does not seem to work offline.
The macOS Calendar app is much better integrated into the system and has more features and takes up much less memory to function. It would be crucial to be able to connect the calendar to the default macOS calendar or any other client people prefer.

I'm surprised this isn't supported yet. I came here from GitHub since the issue was closed even though it's clearly not supported yet.

I would to like to use proton calendar with Outlook at my work laptop or in GNOME calendar at home, or in Thunderbird.

Fantastical is end-to-end encrypted and I have to use Outlook for work. I'd prefer to use Proton Calendar instead of Google Calendar, but I need to be able to see all my calendar events from work and personal in one place. I don't really want my work seeing my personal calendar, so I have no option but to continue using Google Calendar. :(

I believe in the mission of Proton but I'm having to consider moving back to Google Calendar or some other service specifically because of this one feature that seems fairly reasonable to include for any calendar service. This has been requested countless times by people stating that they are unable to use Proton without it.
I need to use a dedicated calendar application that can bring together my work calendar (Google Calendar) with my personal calendar (ideally Proton). This is one of the reasons this feature is so important to me.

Essential for interoperability, otherwise I would just use thunderbird.

It's infeasible for me to move off of all google services until proton implements caldav/carddav protocols

I would really like to see this implemented. I am not a fan of having browser tabs open for what can be replaced by a dedicated software

I took the leap o Proton last year because I believe in the mission and don't want to be reliant on big tech. Unfortunately, as my consulting business is scaling, this has become a sufficient bottle neck that it's forcing me to go back to G or MS.
