Secure calendaring is a huge need for me as a consultant.

I'd literally pay an extra $30/yr per email in my org for this and it would be a win. Calendly charges $10/mo so you'd be saving $90/yr if the integration were half as good as Calendly is with Google Calendar.
Edit: to be clear: when I say "I'd pay an extra $30/yr per email" - I have 6 orgs, so net would be $180/yr for my user account personally, different users among those orgs would cost differently depending on overlap per that model - wasn't trying to say "do it cheaper and I'd buy it" - I'd buy it for the same cost or a bit more.

Would be super useful! As a paying customer of Proton Mail & Calendar. Just an appointment booking service.

This is what I want to do with Proton, but I would prefer a real API to let users write their own integrations, and use something like Cal.com (which can be self-hosted) as a Calendly alternative.

The calendar lacks a lot of features. Having this would alleviate the pain substantially.

If there is no intention of gaining close to parity with most of the calendars out there then maybe the time would be be better spent developing and killer task manager and mindmapper to add to the eco-system.

I need this as I am scrambling my brain to find an integration with Calendly or Cal.com. It is really disrupting my workflow not to have this. Please, Proton, make it happen.

This is such a huge need. I have a business in a social services category being actively targeted by the US Government, and I need to be able to schedule with clients – organizations and individuals – in a way that is professional, easy for them, and low-stress for me. I left Google Calendar for obvious reasons when the US declared all LGBTQ+ people a "threat to national security," but I still need the functions of Calendly.

Agreed. I currently rely on Google Calendar for this - setting availability slots that can be scheduled for anyone who has a link to my availability calendar. I am also able to customize the appointment request fields to capture their name, contact info, reason for the appointment, etc. and then it auto-generates a meeting that shows up on the calendar and send the meeting details to both our emails. I set up my availability once and then any time an external party asked to find a time to talk, I send them all a single link to my availability and they find something that works for them. It saves me a ton of time and back and forth, and they don’t have to see the rest of my calendar. This appointment scheduling feature is going to keep me using Google Calendar as an alternative to paying for pricy scheduling apps. I love so much about Proton, but this is a critical need for me.

Nice-to-have would be an integrated option to take payment at the time of scheduling (for consulting and coaching appointments), or an integrated platform for meeting, maybe with Jitsi?

I see that Google Calendar has an appointment scheduling feature. It would be very cool to have that in Proton Calendar :)

The absence of this specific feature is a deal breaker for me. I really like Proton's apps and products, but a booking page is critical to my workflow.

Tested also with Vyte (https://vyte.in), but usability was an issue as well as privacy (>5 US-based tracking products always on).

Fully agree, we need something like this. The simplicity of Calendly combined with the privacy of Proton would be super helpful.

Requested information at some alternatives:

It would definitely help a lot. We have Calendly and it's JavaScript deeply integrated in the onboarding of new customers. After switching to Proton, this has become a hassle in terms of the amount of labour needed to do it manually.

After further investigation, we have switched to cal.com.

With cal.com (open source and free and paid hosted versions, note US-based), you can retrieve events from the ICS feed (CalDav). The ICS feed is only read from.

However, since cal.com also sends an invite to the Proton mailbox, the item also appears in the Proton Calendar.

There were some minor issues. Most notable ones:

- some recurring calendar items had the wrong timezone in the ICS feed of Proton. Drop and recreate calendar item. Fixed.
- restrict number of calendar items in ICS feed of Proton. One with 15K items crashes. Solved by creating calendar starting at this year instead of using one with maybe 20 years of history.

We need something like Calendly that allows clients to book into our calendar. The current workaround of syncing Proton to Google Meet is incredibly slow and defeats the purpose of a private booking service.

Would be incredibly useful to be able to share my availability with others and have them schedule times!
