Offline calendar
I don't really mind whether its a bridge to an existing app - Apple Mail, Lightning - or adedicated proton app but I need a calendar that I can use (rather than just view) offline. That means adding and editing events. This seems to me a pretty basic function, without it Proton Calendar is not much use to me. I am offline a lot of the time.

Yes this is key for me as well

It is May 2022 and still no offline mode for IOS? Protonmail privacy is of no use to me when i cannot access my own emails offline. I gave it a try, paid subscription and patiently waited for years. Time (and a patience) is running out though. Offline access should not be a special feature in a year 2022 but a standard part of service and it is a dealbreaker for me.

Seconded! I work in a country with erratic internet connectivity and need to be able to make entries on the calendar whenever I agree the appointment, without waiting minutes (or potentially hours) watching an unresponsive screen. Also when offline.

Seconded! Surprised there's not more upvotes for this

I often find it necessary to update my calendar in areas with poor or no connectivity. Since Proton Calendar requires an internet connection to edit events, I have to record the event details in a text file or a paper notebook, then remember to put the data into Proton Calendar when I have connectivity again. It would be very helpful if Proton Calendar would let me add/edit events without an internet connection, then automatically sync those changes when a connection become available.

Yeah, I wish to have this feature too. To update/add event even when offline. It will be nice, because there are sometimes need to work with the calendar without network.

I would like to be able to enter/save new events without having an active data or wi-fi connection. I have a very small data allowance, and I'm not always near wi-fi when I need to create a new item in Proton Calendar

I'm not online all the time, it'd be helpful if I could add events to my calendar when I'm offline, then the calendar could update itself when I did return online.

I would like to create an event, even without having internet connection.

In the context of the ProtonCalendar app, this feature proposal is important for any user, no matter one is radiation-aware.
My use case: I am somewhere with friends where no network is available (eg restaurant in old building with big walls which make 4g not available). We are setting up our next meeting.
Current behaviour = "error creating event".
Workaround = make a note somewhere else and do the entry yourself next time I can find some network, but this is very likely to lead to an omission at some point in time.Expected behaviour would be: the event is created locally, with automatic sync next time the app finds some network.

AFAICT - ProtonMail is an "abandoned" service, at least, as far as the mobile apps go: they haven't been renewed in years, they are tired, dated, barely usable apps, belonging to 10 years ago.
The fact that they lack even the most basic functionality that even the most threadbare mobile client apps provide for granted (threading in folders; offline access) shows that, as far as Proton management is concerned, we, the users, are taken for granted too.

i am radiation-aware. i leave my data off most of the time. i want to be able to create and save a new calendar entry whilst offline. this of course would benefit those out of range at the time, too.
MS Exchange allows this and updates entries in both directions (on my mobile and on my desktop when i next connect to data and it synchs. -

After the crash today I want to suggest an urgent feature.
For me its a complete desaster not having access to the calender.
Please add an option to use it offline - otherwise I would have to go back to pen & paper, I just cannot afford loosing access to my work schedule... -

Dear Proton Team, I know you do your best to offer us more than excellent services :-). BUT, I am really disappointed not to be able to create appointments/events when I am offline on my phone...Sometimes as I sit in a meeting, or over the phone, or at my dentist ;-) I have no time to establish a connection (Wifi or Data) before creating the event...This should be possible, and the synchro can take place later, when a connection is established. It is true that I can check offline the events already created. But not create new ones....This point will refrain me of using ProtonCalendar app (Android) extensively...I am a fan of aCalendar from Tapir Gmbh. Thanks for your attention.

This should be in the mobile apps, at the very least

Recently stumbled on this.. How is it possible that this feature is not there? Seems as one of the basics. Insane.. Just add something as simple caching of all mails below configurable size X until cache filled. Then just delete oldest to cache latest.

Offline needed for when Internet unavailable

How about an offline mode for the android app where one can read ones mails (from the last synchronizing).
It might be possible to make an option where the user can decide for example that he wants to store the mails of the last week on each sync (to be able to read them without an internet connection). As the encryption takes place on the device, these mails might be stored encrypted on the device.
