There couls be a feature to add a separate menu named "Note" which is fully encrypted too, with files attachable that uses up from your mail quota, and quota could be purchasable when ProtonMail becomes out of Beta and makes Quota getting bigger by paying it.
The Notes should have few basic features to attach pictures, files, zips, that is fully ecnrypted.
There could be also a secondary quota for just Notes, which is not a good idea, so if Notes itself and the attached files to Notes eat Quota from ProtonMail Quota (Being standard 1GB quota) is great, this way if someone is out of quota, they can in the near future buy more quota for their Notes, attachment and mails, it's like paying for extra 1GB and getting the quota benefiting mail quota, notes and attachments. Great from my view.
These days, there is not much encrypted notes, there is, but doesn't cover modern looking and promising security nor a well known brand, when ProtonMail do aims to encryption where it can be the most popular service among encrypting Notes.
There is for now Evernote or GNotes that is a note-saving website, but neither of them do really encrypt your notes, lame, i hope ProtonMail users vote this up as much vote as possible, because it plays a mandatory usefull in the near future when native Mobile apps do come out, easily going to your encrypted notes and looking whatever you do need, brilliant idea.

SpiderOak = 1TB for $100 per year. Encrypted. Key on your own machine. I would like something like evernote that is client side encrypted.

Not a bad idea, but, pm is first an email service, still in beta. I suggest sticking to #1 before tackling new ideas.

A definite requirement to have an equivalent of a Google Drive! Over time as a user, one will store many different types of information, and such a feature is an absolute must.

I think that ProtonMail creating cloud storage (some free some payable) would be fantastic. To long has poor security minded firms like dropbox got away with frankly terrible service.
There are lots of other firms which offer highly encrypted cloud storage, but this generally comes at a significant cost. It would be nice to see ProtonMail set up something which is priced affordable for people, but offer the cloud encryption that everyone needs.

I think the next step should be to be able to store your data just like dropbox... easy and fast but with the difference of being secure. I know it takes a lot of storage but we need this and I would be happy to pay a fair price.
