Phone Number alias / masking
It would be nice to have a app from Proton which gives a virtual phone number. (Like Google Voice)

This is another cool idea, but to beat google you have to unfortunately think like google. They take each thing in stride, and build completed features with cohesive user experiences. Proton has protonmail going for it, but everything being built right now feels like it is a in a silo. To replace Google Suite, Protonmail, Calendar, Drive, etc, will all need to be pristine user experiences, and that's just not the case. For example, not a single person in my company of 1000's could use ProtonCalendar for this reason alone:

This would allow a lot of businesses to move over. Both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace have built in voice and video tools (often much cheaper than ProtonMail’s professional and visionary packages) I would certainly appreciate getting more for my money instead of just a few extra domains and 10 VPN connections I will never use 😂

I voted for this because this would be fantastic. Perhaps it could be a Feature included in one of the Premium Packages or something sold totally separate. ProtonMail is growing at a fast pace or it seems to be and the more Features, Solutions, Products and Premium Plans it has, the more Customers and Sales ProtonMail will get! I'd love to see a Virtual Number from ProtonMail!

FWIW Youmail is a voicemail/spam blocker. To get your own phone line from them you have to move up to the $15/mo US pro package. I don't really want their other services. I just want a number.

Completely agree. I'd be glad to pay for a phone number knowing that big tech isn't spying and capturing my communications.

I totally agree! I can see that a few other people are talking about other services, but to have everything in one package would be wonderful!

https://youmai.com/ is in just this business. They operate primarily in the US. I could see this getting complicated to do on a global basis. Their use case is business numbers for small tradesmen, etc. to take business calls on a mobile without disclosing device phone number.
Many VoIP terrestrial carriers offer additional numbers. For example, OOMA Premier service includes a second in/out number. Can be set up to forward to mobile.

Noted by someone else who signed up for lots of Google stuff and now is fleeing them. I agree, great idea... I found another service to take over my GV number, and it's okay, but having it part of a package would be nice.
