If I close my browser, leave my computer, and someone accesses it and opens a browser, my whole Proton Pass is behind a SIX DIGIT PASSWORD. How secure is that ? Even lastpass has an option to log out the extension when you close the browser.

Any traction on this? Make the browser extension password protected as well as pin protected. That should be an easy add

When closing the browser, Proton Pass should be automatically logged out.

The current default option is "Stay logged in" which is a CRITICAL security bug.

This option would be allowed if the user intentionally checked it.

At a minimum, the following options should be available:
- log out after closing the browser
- log out after <nnn> minutes and unlock with a PIN
- stay logged in (checking should prompt you about the potential risk of staying logged in after closing the browser).

Coming from KeePass, which locks when:

- You haven't used KeePass for some time (configurable)
- You lock the operating system (Windows)

It would be great if Proton Pass would have this option (and probably should do by default)!

This basic password manager security feature is essential. Most other pass managers have it.

Just migrated over from Bitwarden, and to my dismay this feature isn't present. Remembering a unique pin is not ideal for auto-locking.

Yes definitely needed. It's the default I used on Bitwarden. I don't want to leave it without any PIN, nor do I want it as short as 1 hour as I use my browser for 8-10 hours a day, and am in and out of sites all day long.

This would give me peace of mind

I'm surprised that privacy-minded people at Proton didn't think of this and making the browser extension sync settings with the account.

Until there's a more secure scheme to prevent unwanted access to the vault through the browser extension, e.g. on a shared machine, I have no other choice but to go back to BitWarden.

The "Auto-lock after 4 hours" feature, which is available in the Android version of Proton Pass, would be great to have in the browser extension and downloadable Windows application as well. Then the application would be perfect.

I want to force a log in to the Proton Pass chrome extension every time the browser is closed. Every morning when someone turns on my computer, all my passwords are freely available.

Please! Being constantly needing to unlock is a pain. Bitwarden has the option to unlock the browsing session, which is exactly how it should work instead of applying arbitrary timers!

Also useful: a toggle to enable option to log out on browser restart (similar to what Bitwarden web extension has)
