Configure spellchecker language in desktop app
In a browser, Proton Mail benefits from the browser functions to spell check. In the new Proton Mail installed application, the language cannot be configured or I do not know how to do it...
It would be very useful to be able to configure the spell checker language for people that are writing in a language that is different than the OS language used.
Thank You

For a download manager to be useful, it must work inside your browser. The idm download manager chrome extension is the most vital part of the software. It allows you to right-click any link and "Download with IDM". However, many users face the "Extension not appearing" bug. https://idmlover.org/

WE have been waiting for years. Is this in vain? Should we use a different mail client?

Bit surprised that a company from a country with FOUR official languages doesn't see this basic feature as a must-have...
I work in three languages - of course I can use the browser - but then, why do you have the app?update: adjusting the "Preferences" file, adding language codes, worked

Absolutely incomprehensible that the option for multiple spelling languages is missing.

A built-in writing assistant for the ProtonMail desktop client would be a great addition, especially for people who communicate in several languages. Even small usability upgrades like spell-check or grammar suggestions can prevent mistakes and improve everyday workflows. The same idea applies to educational tools as well—when platforms are simple and well-organized, students can find important information faster. Resources such as https://buscador-de-status.com/beca-rita-cetina/
show how clear digital guides can help families better understand scholarship programs and related updates. 📚💻 -

A built-in writing assistant in the ProtonMail desktop client would definitely improve the experience for multilingual users. Small usability features like spell checks or smart suggestions often save time and prevent mistakes. Similar ideas apply in education platforms too—tools such as the buscador de escuelas for Beca Rita Cetina help students quickly find reliable information without confusion, showing how simple digital solutions can make complex processes much easier to manage. 💻📚

This is the most important feature to me and is currently forcing me to use the website instead.
It is a very common scenario having to draft emails in different languages - especially in Europe where the native language of many is not English. -

I am missing the function, that would allow me to switch spell-check languag or even better, if the spell-check would detect the language from a word...
As many, I am mixing German and English in my emails. -

I completely agree that having the ability to configure the spellchecker language in the desktop app would enhance usability for global users. Multilingual support is increasingly expected in today’s software, especially when people rely on digital tools for daily tasks. This aligns with a wider trend toward user-centric web services that simplify routine processes and remove friction from online interactions. For example, even outside communication apps, streamlined solutions such as an https://mepcobillchk.pk help users quickly access and understand important information without unnecessary steps. More customizable features like language settings and intuitive utilities ultimately make tech more accessible for everyone.

This would be a very useful feature for multilingual users. Many people write in a language different from their OS, so configurable spellchecker settings make a real difference. Language-based systems need flexibility, just like tools that analyze structured data such as codice fiscale inverso, where accuracy depends on correct language rules. A customizable spellchecker would greatly improve the desktop app experience.

Every writing Desktop Software (take LibreOffice) has the possibility to choose if the spell checker is activated or not and in which language the check takes place without depending on the language OS that is configured.

Many people know and write in multiple languages. Proofing language should not be tied to application language. I want to configure multiple language I commonly write in and spellchecker automatically picks the one I write in, or allow me to quickly switch between my languages from a drop down. Desktop app is most important to me, but mobile apps should also have this.

I use English interfaces on the web and on my desktop, yet I write and read in multiple languages. Not being able to spellcheck in the email app is a drag and slows down my productivity.

As someone who writes in multiple languages often, this would be a useful feature for the ProtonMail desktop client, especially if it helped avoid embarrassing typos before sending. Usability improvements like this often make the biggest difference. Other platforms, such as the buscador de escuelas beca Rita Cetina used in education programs, also benefit from simple, focused tools that users can access easily at https://buscadordeestatus.mx/
