Proton's answer to LinkedIn users who seek a more trustworthy platform.
As you know by now, LinkedIn is facing a class-action lawsuit in the US related to Unauthorized Data Sharing; Premium subscribers allege that LinkedIn secretly shared their private messages with third parties to train artificial intelligence (AI) models. This represents a clear violation of the Stored Communications Act (SCA), California's Unfair Competition Law (UCL), and is a significant breach of contract.
While LinkedIn has acknowledged this, and in response updated their privacy policy to give users more control over how their data are used for AI training, its an illegal breach of trust and may potentially expose users to privacy risks.
A new job board service tailored to the security and value proposition of the Proton portfolio of services would, I suspect, be an attractive option to those looking for a more trustworthy milieu. Finally, it would serve well those customers in a niche market to which your organization already appeals.
