Request for Free IMAP/POP3 Access
I understand that IMAP/POP3 is currently gated behind paid plans. As a committed advocate for privacy, I kindly request that you unlock basic IMAP and POP3 access for all free accounts, even if subject to reasonable limits (e.g., sync frequency, folder count).
This change will:
Enable users with financial constraints to adopt Proton Mail.
Strengthen Proton’s position as the go-to privacy provider by removing a major blocker to migration.
I am eager to beta-test and provide feedback on this functionality or any of the above proposals.
Thank you for considering these suggestions. I remain a loyal Proton user and look forward to seeing these innovations come to life.
Free IMAP/POP3 Access for All
Implementation: Enable basic IMAP/POP3 access via ProtonMail Bridge or direct server support on the free plan, with sensible rate limits and folder quotas.
Argument: Lowers the barrier to entry for privacy newcomers and accelerates migration from legacy providers.

- IMAP/POP3 Integration:
Allow secure IMAP/POP3 access for standard users, even if on a limited basis. This will facilitate seamless integration with third-party email clients, making email management more versatile and user-oriented.- Expanded Storage Capacity:
Increase the free storage allocation to 10 GB for both Proton Mail and Proton Drive. This enhancement will empower users to efficiently manage and archive their communications and documents without immediate need for premium upgrades.- Web3 and Blockchain Integration:
Embrace the future by integrating Web3 capabilities into Proton Mail. Implement blockchain solutions for:
- Enhanced Security: Utilizing cryptographic digital signatures and tamper-proof decentralized identities.
- Decentralized Verification: Ensuring the authenticity and integrity of emails.
- Crypto-Enhanced Communication: Providing users with state-of-the-art encrypted messaging that leverages the strengths of blockchain technology. -

Hi all, I would like to make it, so proton makes an open IMAP/POP3 service. I don't want proton bridge for 2 reasons. 1. only on laptop (I want it on my phone) 2. paid. :(
