User Voice Improvement & Better Proton AG Administration
I suspect Proton AG has a subscription with the feedback and feature request service 'User Voice'. Being a long term subscriber to the service I suppose it would allow Proton AG to perhaps also give them feedback which I know is rather unconventional. The reason I state this is because I'd like Proton AG to kindly ask User Voice two for two particular features, the first of which many including Proton AG would appreciate is in the 'protonmail.uservoice' portal where it displays everything it would be so good if we could acquiesce if firstly the Admin, the Software lead and someone from Product have looked at the feature request just before the Under Review, Planned et al notification are subjected. This way users can better gauge if a feature that seems so obvious or has many many votes has been seen to.
I like the 'How important is this to you? Not...Important...Critical' aspect which exists now which I suspect gives greater importance to the feature behind the scenes but I think users would in addition to this just greatly appreciate a little bit of indication near this which tells us that someone from the product would also like this feature and it's either crazy or surprising that something hasn't been seen to or fixed already. This way we'd know not only has Admin come across it but also someone from the Software Lead and Product as well. This way user not only from the User Voice portal but also the support channel via the protonmail web app can avoid sending in a request and a reply directly from the support team. Honestly, I think this would alleviate a lot of the similar if not identical posts and emails to the Admin and Support team being constantly badgered in the comments section which we know nobody from the Proton AG tam isn't looking at all of them because a lot of posts are starting to look like the following, 'hey guys have you read this... is this planned soon...has the software team seen this because it is a fantastic idea...why was this feature missed out in the original scope of building' etc.
Rather than having literally millions of users anticipate when the 'UNDER REVIEW', 'PLANNED', 'STARTED' and 'DONE' flag is going to pop up, I think this would be equally excellent for User Voice, Proton AG and millions of users.
Seeing as we're on the topic of improving User Voice, could I be cheeky and just as for one more request against which will be beneficial for User Voice, Proton AG and millions of users. The second suggestions is something like an anti-recycling mechanism in User Voice which sort of already exists where to avoid user creating duplicate topics of feature requests it perfectly identifies all the ones with similar connotations which I must say is brilliant already, nevertheless, there still happens to be duplicates and it it is still common. The suggestion is for User Voice to allow Admins to easily combine all the Votes and Comments into the one with the most votes as opposed to flagging it 'Declined' or deleting all the votes and comments.
Finally, overt time I suspect features will need to be enhanced as they become somewhat unusable. To minimise the number of Open topics and suggested features it would be ideal near the main Hot, Top Idea and New categories, if there was also a Backlog category where Admin can on his/her own time or perhaps via user request suggest that a particular feature should be 'Declined/Backlogged i.e it's either in a 'Done' category or 'Not Planned/Outdated' category. This way the number of open tickets and suggestion can be limited and the Admin, Software Lead and Product can think about if there's anything new or actually interesting suggested as opposed to having so many old topics and suggestions.
