Inbox Zero assistant that actually respects privacy
I’d love to see Proton Mail build an AI assistant that helps me get to Inbox Zero without giving up the privacy that brought me to Proton in the first place.
Right now, most “smart inbox” tools require full access to email content. That’s a non-starter. If Proton could offer something similar, but built around encryption and user control, it would fill a real gap.
What I’m looking for is simple in practice:
- A daily triage view that sorts emails into clear groups like “reply,” “waiting,” “archive,” and “unsubscribe”
- Quick summaries of long threads so I don’t have to reread everything
- Draft reply suggestions I can edit, not auto-send
- The ability to bulk clean my inbox in a few clicks
Privacy matters more than automation here. Ideally:
- Processing happens on-device, or in a way Proton can’t read my emails
- Nothing is used to train models
- I can see and control what the system is doing, with an easy undo if it gets something wrong
It would also help if it could:
- Pull out tasks or deadlines from emails
- Turn emails into calendar events or reminders
The goal is to get through my inbox in 10–15 minutes a day without feeling like I handed over my data to do it.
I’d happily test something like this and give feedback if you build it.
