1. Releasing all proton applications on Altstore for IOS

Being able to download apps through altstore classic/PAL would be nice as an alternative option from the app store on IOS.

2. Releasing apps as .ipa files on github with attatched sources

Releasing .ipa files for all the proton apps on github would allow people to sideload them if they wish to do so and also allows for older versions to be archived in a state where someone can go back and use them. Attatching the source url link would allow people to sideload Proton applications and update them through the sideloader.

3. Support reading/editing TXT documents in Proton Drive (Mobile)

There are a number of common document types in use that the mobile version of Proton Drive doesn't support. One of these is TXT format. Please add support to read basic text encodings ASCII/ANSI/Unicode/UTF-8? I might have missed some since this is off the top of my head.

It seems like there quite a number of pretty common document formats that are not readable from the mobile version of Proton Drive or Proton Docs. Examples:

5. ExpressVPN offers ExpressAI, a privacy-focused AI platform launched on March 31, 2026

ExpressVPN offers ExpressAI, a privacy-focused AI platform launched on March 31, 2026
which utilizes confidential computing and secure enclaves to ensure that user prompts, files, and conversations are never accessed by ExpressVPN or used for model training. The service provides access to five AI models—GPT OSS 120B, DeepSeek R1 Distill 32B, Qwen2.5-VL 32B, Qwen3.5 35B-A3B, and Nemotron 12B—within a single interface that supports side-by-side comparison, web search, and multimodal analysis.

Additionally, ExpressVPN introduced an MCP Server (Model Context Protocol) that allows AI coding assistants like Claude Code and Codex to manage VPN settings locally and securely, enabling automated tasks such as geo-sensitive API testing and security diagnostics without exposing sensitive credentials. ExpressAI is included at no extra cost for ExpressVPN Pro subscribers, who receive 500 daily credits and 2GB of secure storage, while the MCP server is available in beta to Pro, Advanced, and Basic tier subscribers on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

So you might want to compete with that idea before too many people move over just for that feature alone..

6. Make us a Proton smartphone OS, pretty please

I'm a new Proton Mail user and I'm so grateful to have an easy-to-use option that is actually privacy-minded, beyond marketing claims obfuscating obscene amounts of private data collection and/or use. I'm exploring other Proton products, but I'm visiting the User Voice area to voice support for a Proton smartphone OS. I'm located in the US, so I'm not sure if additional options are more popular in the rest of the world but here the only options are effectively iOS and Android. I got my son a Nothing Phone, which is still pretty rare to see in the US, and we're really happy with it, but I feel like it's wanting for a non-Android OS option...consider coming through for us, please!

7. Standalone Sheets / Docs Apps in Android Play Store

Proton claims it has created sheets/docs apps, but this is not the case on Android. We have to load these files through the Drive app. You cannot create a spreadsheet in the Drive app, and the Doc creation is extremely rudimentary. This has confused Proton users and they are generally forced to use a browser on desktop to do sheets/docs. We need standalone apps on Android. That is what users mean by wanting a cloud office suite. Once there are standalone office apps, there will be huge growth in adoption of the proton ecosystem.

8. Proton ID and age verification

Proton does great job with offering pseudonymity on the Internet. We need to take it one step further: for users who opt in, reliably verify their identity (maybe for a reasonable fee) and support various standards and protocols to answer questions like is this person an adult, does this person have driving license etc without revealing true identity.

9. Privacy-First Accounting/Bookkeeping Module for Proton Workspace

Subject: Feature Request – Privacy-First Accounting/Bookkeeping Module for Proton Workspace

   To Proton Product Team,

I am a long-time Proton user and supporter of your mission to build privacy-respecting alternatives to Big Tech. I'm writing to propose a significant expansion of the Proton Workspace ecosystem.

   Current Gap:
Proton Workspace currently offers excellent encrypted communication and file storage, but lacks native financial/accounting capabilities. Businesses must use third-party US-based accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho), creating data leakage points where sensitive financial information is exposed to entities that monetize user data through advertising and third-party sharing.

   Proposal:
Develop an end-to-end encrypted accounting/bookkeeping module integrated with Proton Workspace featuring:

   1. Invoice & Receipt Management

      • E2EE storage of all financial documents
      • OCR scanning with private AI processing (client-side or encrypted-server-side)
      • No metadata sold to advertisers or data brokers

   2. Transaction & Expense Tracking

      • Bank API integrations with privacy-preserving protocols
      • Automated categorization using Lumo AI (trained only on user-consented data)
      • Zero-knowledge architecture ensuring Proton cannot access financial data

   3. Customer Data Protection

      • Client PII encrypted with zero-access keys
      • GDPR-compliant data handling throughout
      • No third-party data sharing even for "analytics" purposes

   4. AI-Powered Financial Insights

      • Private dashboard queries ("What were my top expenses last quarter?")
      • Cash flow projections without sending data to external servers
      • Tax preparation summaries generated locally or via encrypted API

   5. Compliance & Interoperability

      • Multi-jurisdiction tax law support (EU VAT, US Sales Tax, etc.)
      • Export compatibility with existing formats for migration scenarios
      • Audit trails with cryptographic verification

   Why Proton?
   - Nonprofit structure eliminates incentive to monetize user financial data
   - Swiss/EU jurisdiction provides stronger privacy protections than US competitors
   - Existing trust relationship (users already store sensitive emails/files here)
   - Technical expertise proven with Drive's encryption SDK

   Business Model Consideration:
Premium tier add-on for Proton Workspace subscribers ($X/user/month), or bundled in Visionary plans.

   Closing:
This expansion would position Proton as the first truly private, secure alternative to Intuit/QuickBooks for businesses that prioritize data sovereignty and privacy. I am willing to beta test such a module if development begins.

Thank you for considering this proposal. I believe there is significant market demand among privacy-conscious professionals, consultants, small businesses, and activists who currently have no fully encrypted accounting option.

   Respectfully,
   SunniDhaes

10. Proton Pass should have permanent storage even for inactive accounts

Vault (password manager) data are critically important and can't be lost, losing vault data is losing all access to all things.

Some vault software such as Bitwarden has the permanent storage even for inactive accounts, and that's the supposed-to-be way.

    There are these 2 situation:
    - User using both Proton Mail and Proton Pass
    - User using only Proton Pass

    For the first situation
    - User will access email everyday and the inactivity rule never applies
    - And thus Proton Pass data are sure there

    For the 2nd situation
    - User may use Proton Pass for access, eg. web
    - But there is a case that all sites are authenticated
    - and even for a year (may happen), no need to use Proton Pass
    - Now it's inactive and the vault data are deleted

Losing vault data as said above is disaster,
I guess Proton account should not be closed due to inactivity,
data of other Proton apps can be wiped due to inactivity,
but Proton Pass must be permanent.

11. Idrive / backblaze alternative

As a proton user I want a reliable encrypted automated cloud backup solution that offers versioning of files and folders (and possibly a complete image) of my personally device (e.g. MacBook) so that I have a reliable and secure offsite disaster recovery option and ability to restore accidentally deleted files or recover from ransomeware.

The reality for home users there are really only 3 options (none of which are any good): carbonite, Backblaze and Idrive. Proton drive is nice but it is a sync solution and not true disaster recovery solution. It also does not necessarily offer enough storage.so it would be great if Proton could expand its current product family to include a truly secure online disaster recovery solution for devices. Preferably with fine grain control as to what gets backed up and for how long version history of backups is maintained

13. Add custom HEX code entry and colour wheel to text formatting toolbar

Especially when to sections such as Signature creation.

The current colour selection for text, background highlighting, and hyperlinks is far too restrictive.
Please add a custom HEX input box (#FFFFFF) and a standard RGB colour wheel picker to the rich text editor. This functionality is vital for business accounts that must precisely match text and links to their established brand colour guidelines.
The current limited generic options are extremely poor!

15. A Proton Podcast Player

There's currently no good option (particularly from a privacy perspective) for a podcast app that can use custom RSS feeds as well as podcast addict on android.

A cross-platform service that allows syncing podcast progress, can use private password protected feeds, and is privacy first would be a game changer in that space.

18. Short link for creating new documents, emails, events, etc.

Excerpt from get.new: .new is a domain extension exclusively for performing new actions online: any act that leads to creation can have a quick and memorable new shortcut associated with it. Help your customers take action faster. Less time clicking means more time creating.

It would be extremely convenient to use proton.new for creating things in Proton. Everything I can think of:
    proton.new/doc - New document
    proton.new/sheet - New sheet
    proton.new/mail & proton.new/email - New email
    proton.new/event - New calendar event
    proton.new/meeting - New meeting

I think the plural forms of the words should work, too: doc & docs, event & events, etc. You could also use the subdomain for this: docs.proton.new, mail.proton.new, etc.

proton.new by itself or with an invalid path (proton.new/whatever) should lead to a dashboard where you can quickly select whether you are creating a new email, document, etc.

20. Thinking About HubSpot CMS – Is It the Right Choice for Business Websites?

I'm planning to upgrade a business website, and HubSpot CMS is one of the platforms I'm considering. From what I've researched, it offers an easy editing experience, built-in SEO recommendations, strong security, and smooth integration with other HubSpot tools. Those features sound promising, but I'd like to know how it performs in real-world projects. Has HubSpot CMS been easy to manage as your website grows? Are there any limitations or features that surprised you after using it? I'd appreciate hearing honest feedback from anyone with hands-on experience.
