  1. Remove dependance on google play services

Protonmail android app is dependent on google play services and that is obviously against privacy and security.
Users who removed/disable google play services or used vanilla "lineageos" without gapps cannot get the mail client work properly.
Google play services collect every possible piece of info about the user; location, body sensors, application usage, and every other possible thing. So telling the use to enable/install google services you compromise his privacy and security by 3rd party app which is clearly against the idea if Protomail.

I hope you can correct this and have no dependence on google at all.

  2. Request the removal of spot.im from the protonmail.com website.

Protonmail.com is now allowing spot.im to access the website. Spot.im is invasive and collects information about website users. To the best of my knowledge, is contrary to the concept of protectign users' privacy.

Protonmail states on the website's about page: "We're building an internet that protects privacy, starting with email." - it seems to me there's a conflict of interest allowing spot.im to access any of the website's data - whether user login infor, traffic, geo-location, or anything else.

Please discontinue the invasive practice of permitting spot.im to access users' data.

  3. deseat.me for PM

Deseat.me is a service that can scan all your emails and find all the accounts you created with that email address so that you can delete them and clean up your internet presence.

It only has functionality for gmail and microsoft emails.

If you could build an in-house ProtonMail version we could all benefit from this service without having to expose our info to a third party.

    Thanks for reading :)

  5. Proton OS

I know it is too much, but it would be great,to see ProtonOS, similar to tails, with implemented VPN/Proxy,Proton browser, mail, access to onion, etc. Not only for geeks, but for simple people too, like accountant, secretary, writer.. you get the idea.
I believe it will have a great success, as already now people already dream about it.

An antivirus service could be a great addition for the ProtonMail community and many others in coming years. It could go as an extension with the VPN service and/or Mail.

  7. Decentralize Protonmail onto Hashgraph or Blockchain

Put Protonmail in a decentralized place where not even the Swiss gov. can't shut it down and Hashgraph or Blockchain similar technology would be great for it if somehow possible and make it open source.

  10. Support autocrypt for messaging with non-protonmail addresses

Autocrypt is easy to setup, so people are likely to use it more than plain PGP. ProtonMail should have autocrypt configured automatically (for non-protonmail addresses) since there's nothing users can lose by using autocrypt.

GlassWire is an excellent firewall, but way too expensive for the common user. Consider a joint venture for Protonmail/vpn customers or direclty buy the company :D

  13. Combine with pCloud...

Both companies based in Switzerland, both companies have similar goals and standards in terms of privacy and security. pCloud, pMail, pVPN... all goes hand in hand.

And also like someone else has said, please offer a one off payment method like pCloud does.

  14. No Data Retention, no logs, and more transparency.

Things that should have been here.

Protonmail needs to be more transparent in the same way as it is expressively transparent, when it says that its service is hosted in Switzerland.

    Why?

There are things we should not ask to do as we do here on this list, ask for encrypted data where it should already have, major keys etc.

These things should already be in place and not be something on demand.

Protonmail has an easier to use interface, but that does not mean it's not as accurate in privacy as it should be.

  17. Reward users for filling out your surveys

If you want to build up community involvement make the yearly email survey a benefit.

Reward those that complete the survey with a feature or increased limit. DropBox did this for referrals and it really helped to grow their business. I would target a yahoo email users and look at adding tools to make it easier to dump a long time email address for a new proton one.

It would be fantastic to make a full switch from google. This includes mail and storage, primarily photos. It would be good to pay for storage to store apps and sync photos to them knowing that they are secure.
