1. Custom Icons for Vaults, Aliases, and Credentials

   Hello Proton Team,

   First of all, thank you for building a privacy-focused ecosystem. I've been using Proton services extensively, especially Proton Pass, and I have a suggestion that I believe would greatly improve organization and usability.

   Custom Icons

   It would be extremely useful if users could assign custom icons to:

   • Vaults
   • Aliases
   • Individual credentials (logins, cards, notes, identities, etc.)

   This would make it much easier to visually identify items, especially for users who manage hundreds of credentials.

   Custom Colors

   In addition to icons, allowing users to choose custom colors would improve organization even further.

   Ideally, users could:

   • Pick any color using a HEX color code (e.g. #6A5ACD)
   • Use a color picker
   • Apply colors independently to vaults, aliases, and credentials

   Icon Library Integration

   Another interesting approach would be integrating with an icon library such as:

   • Iconify
   • Material Symbols
   • Font Awesome
   • Lucide
   • Heroicons

   Many modern platforms already provide this type of customization. For example, Linktree allows users to select from a large icon library, giving much more flexibility while keeping the interface clean.

   Benefits

   • Faster visual identification
   • Better organization for power users
   • Improved accessibility
   • More personalization without affecting privacy
   • Easier separation between personal, work, finance, gaming, infrastructure, development, and other categories

   These could all remain optional features, so users who prefer the current minimalist interface would not experience any changes.

2. Easy application update (in Linux)

   I use a script to update Proton Pass. I would like to do the same with other products. I need the equivalent of this file https://proton.me/download/PassDesktop/linux/x64/version.json for other products.

   Does it exist? Where are they for the other products? (don't you love bash scripts?) I just realized I retrieve the version file more than once. I will fix that if you answer my question.

3. Build a Proton Browser — Privacy-First and Centric, All Pieces Already Exist

   Proton already has all the pieces — Mail, VPN, Calendar, Drive, Pass, Sentinel ad/tracker blocking. A lightweight, privacy-first Proton Browser would be a natural progression and complete the puzzle!

   The concept: a browser where all Proton products are built in and ready to be activated at will. The user chooses what they want — one person wants the full suite, another just wants VPN and Pass. Makes is simple and even more customized for all.

   The home page wouldn't need to be a search engine — Google, Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo have that covered. Instead, it could be a clean Proton app dashboard. Click the Mail icon for Mail, VPN is built in, and so on. Simple, elegant, and completely functional.

   You already block ads and trackers. You already have Pass for passwords, cards and contacts. Download, ask once, and go. Include a Ghost Mode (like in Lumo) as a private page for one-offs and extra privacy.

   No upselling, no ads — privacy sells itself. Let users try Proton and decide what they like. It wouldn't detract from the apps you've already built — it would complement and unify them.

   It would be the most convenient private browser out there. All the app goodies in one bag, simple, clean, elegant, and of course, private. It's time to own your creation, embrace it, and share it.

4. Proton Tasks app

   I wanted to give you an idea for something which is missing in the Proton apps family, a Proton Tasks app (similar to google tasks) where you can put your to-do list for the day, week, long term, etc. It could have its own phone widget and also be interlinked with the proton calendar. I feel like it is a really simple app to make, yet I quite notice its absence since I still use google tasks.

5. Offer Onion Routing in the Apps

   Proton needs to add a feature to route its services directly to its onion service in the apps (mobile/desktop). This isn’t a new feature by any metric and it’s actually quite underrated among other privacy oriented apps.

   It shouldn’t have to be explained, but Tor itself is a superior circumvention tool to online censorship worldwide. Proton already offers its own onion services on web for people who NEED it. The only caveat is this purpose is strictly limited to the browser and not where it could be an option within the apps to route directly to an onion site for extra security (since privacy is guaranteed over the Tor network connected to an onion service).

   Many of the current circumvention tools and tactics from Proton are helpful but they aren’t foolproof. Alternative routing breaks apart if an admin on the network catches the proton domain calling to google/quad9/cloudflare/aws since it’s bundled there in the DNS queries. The next logical step is to go with Proton VPN. Duh, right? If Proton VPN can be blocked on a network, not even Stealth can help. Stealth is very hit or miss, and Proton is reluctant to try anything other VPNs successfully implemented to bypass VPN restrictions. Instead of really considering it, they wrote a blog post to talk down on it: https://protonvpn.com/support/socks5

   So if everything is blocked on an aggressive network, what can you really do? Connect to Tor. It’s one of the best tools widely available to everyone and often the one that people could count their lives on. You could go ahead and say you can connect to Proton now without onion routing and just have Tor enabled, and you’re right that you can. You just gotta consider that it doesn’t carry the same benefits you get from a proper onion service. The kind that seems minimal but really could save a life.    This is a long writeup because I believe this HAS to be implemented and can’t be overlooked. A lot of posts here are people misunderstanding Proton and just posting grievances about bugs they found. I wrote this in hopes to get more attention to the matter.

   Proton already offers excellent documentation, but it could be even more useful by providing a community-maintained section with links to trusted regional digital services and official resources.

   Many users rely on Proton Mail, Drive, or VPN while accessing government portals, education platforms, and public services in different countries. A curated resource hub (or community wiki) could help users discover reliable information without needing to search across multiple websites.

   For example, while helping users in Morocco, I found that guides such as https://massarservicema.net/ make it easier to understand the Massar Service portal and common account-related tasks. Similar community-recommended resources for other regions could improve the overall user experience while keeping the focus on privacy and accessibility.

   This could be an optional community feature where users suggest helpful, non-commercial resources that moderators review before they are listed. It would make Proton more useful for international users without affecting the core products.

   Set account to close from 8 PM to 7 AM daily
   No one can log into any Proton service during this window
   Automatically reopens at 7 AM
   Why This Matters

   When I'm sleeping, I don't want to worry about someone accessing my Proton services if credentials are compromised or there's physical device access. An account-wide restriction would add a temporal security layer beyond password and 2FA.

   Key Requirements

10. How about windows kinda view on proton pass for the notes?

    I would like to suggest a view that makes it possible to see every note under proton pass as little icons/windows/I don't know how to describe it but I think you get my point, like being able to see sneak peaks of what every note contains and like little squares like we can do for photos let's say (and how it works last time I checked on google keep notes for example) :))

12. Add settings to Proton Web Dashboard

    Add the settings to the top right corner (next to the proton account) in the Proton Web Dashboard at: https://account.proton.me/apps. This way the settings could be accessed more quickly. Instead of clicking on mail, waiting a few seconds for the mails to load and then clicking on the settings icon next to the proton account.

13. Minor issues render Calendar/Meet unusable for professional use

    As a long-time, enthusiastic Proton Mail user, I’m currently checking out the other apps as well, because I’d like to use the Proton Suite professionally in the future. Unfortunately, it isn’t suitable for professional use yet.

    Some examples:
    1. A calendar event generates an email with a generic subject line (Invitation for an event starting on), which is not suitable for professional use.
    2. A Meet event does not appear in the calendar, yes I can create it via calendar app instead. Why?
    3. A Meet link is surrounded by characters which look like a childs game from the 90th:

17. Share custom Lumos with other proton users

    Allow other proton users to access custom Lumos built by other proton users. This would allow custom Lumos with specialized information inside their 'knowledge bases' to assist others who don't have access to hyper specialized or data or knowledge.

18. Lumo needs to be a new journal app

    I'd love to see Lumo evolve into a dedicated personal journal mode.

    I've tried a lot of journaling apps over the years, and surprisingly, the way Lumo already works feels more natural than any of them. The conversational style, thoughtful responses, and ability to reflect on ideas make it a much better experience than traditional journal apps that simply store entries.

    What I'd love is an optional Journal Mode that presents conversations as a personal journal rather than a chat. For example:

    • Entries organized by date in a journal timeline or calendar.
    • A cleaner journal-style layout instead of a messaging interface.
    • Optional daily prompts and reflection questions.
    • The ability to revisit past entries by date, mood, or topic.
    • Insights showing recurring themes, personal growth, goals, and habits over time.
    • Privacy-focused features that reinforce the feeling of keeping a personal diary.

    The intelligence is already there—what's missing is a presentation layer that feels like opening a journal instead of a chat app.

    In many ways, Lumo already beats every journaling app I've tried because it doesn't just record thoughts; it helps me process them. Giving users the option to experience it as a journal would make it even more compelling and could replace a whole category of apps for people who want a more reflective, conversational journaling experience.

19. Proton Meet - HD Video, Stereo Audio, plus pin speaker option

    Proton Meet - HD Video, High Resolution (Original Sound) Stereo Audio, plus pin speaker option

    Please make Proton meet available with the option for HD video (which can also be recorded in HD), and high resolution audio, for sharing music in stereo

    Also the ability to pin a speaker so the recording shows only that speaker

    Essentially, the ability to share and record meetings with good quality video and audio (like with Zoom, which I'd love to stop using, if there is an alternative with these features)
