  1. add free api to all of your services

Subject: Feature Request: Introduction of a free API tier for all Proton servicesDear Proton Team,I am writing to you as a dedicated user and supporter of your platform. I deeply appreciate your ecosystem's commitment to digital privacy, security, and open-source software.I would like to formally suggest the introduction of a basic, free API access tier with reasonable rate limits across all of your services.Providing a foundational, free API would bring great value to both your team and the user base:Developer Innovation: It enables the community to build secure, open-source integrations and complementary tools.Ecosystem Growth: It will attract developers who will…

  2. bring all proton to nixos

ubject: Thank you & a request: Bringing the entire Proton ecosystem to Linux (especially NixOS) 🐧Dear Proton Team,First of all, thank you for the amazing ecosystem you are building. Privacy and security are more important than ever, and your services help us stay protected every day.The Linux community deeply appreciates your efforts so far, but I have a big request: we would love to see every single one of your applications officially available on Linux. Having seamless desktop support for your entire suite of privacy tools would make a massive difference for us.In particular, the NixOS community (a rapidly growing…

  3. Unified data export across all Proton apps

I've got Mail, Drive, Calendar and Pass now, and pulling my own data out of all of them at once is basically impossible - every app exports its own way, if it exports at all. At my day job I build data pipelines, and one thing that clicked for me was reading through this https://cobit-solutions.com/en/services/data-lake-consulting-services/ on how you land raw data from a bunch of different sources into one place first, then structure it. Something like that under the hood would let Proton give us a single "export everything" that actually works. Right now it feels like each app is…

  5. Proton Pay Virtual Cards for private online payments

The same as Privacy.com (US-only) and Halocard.co (all countries) work by generating virtual cards that keep your real credit card details private when buying stuff online.

Once you have virtual cards for online payments build on it with contactless NFC payments that don't need Google Pay, which matters A LOT for us GrapheneOS users for the reasons everyone already knows.

Yes there are banks, licensing and KYC involved BUT unless you live in a hole, making card payments is an essential service and an IMPROVED privacy posture where money is at risk is significantly better than NONE AT ALL.

    If…

  6. And I.D.E. (Independent Developing Enviroment)

Why not make an IDE. Proton is all about privacy so why not make one. You can easily integrate Lumo into the work space as a chat bot for building app structures, code, etc. You can integrate git repositories that have E2EE encryption as a part of privacy and have the ability to import files from proton drive or save files to the drive

  7. A simple zero knowledge peer-to-peer file transfer service

I believe this technology already exists. My understanding of it might be incorrect or limited as I'm not a developer myself.

Essentially, when using WebRTC, the transferred data does not need to be saved on a server, but there has to be a relay server to connect the two computers. That means the users themselves carry the cost of storage and data transfer. Copyright infringement or other illegal material would not be an issue either as the service provider is comparable to a phoneline operator.

Commercial comparables include ToffeeShare (EU) & partially Wormhole (United States). Wormhole saves files smaller than…

  8. Edit as new message

I miss the function which I know from and use a lot in Thunderbird: Edit as new nessage.

With this function I can take a message I sent previously and just update the recipient or parts of the context and don't have to copy and paste. I find this very useful.

  10. Version française du mot "Archives" dans la version française de Proton Mail

La version français du dossier Archives en français est "Déplacer vers les archives", au lieu de tout simplement "Archives". Je vois pas pourquoi on ajoute le verbe Déplacer ici.

  11. Add a Unified Security Center for All Proton Services

It would be great to have a single Security Center where users can monitor all Proton services from one place. The dashboard could display login activity, connected devices, recovery options, security alerts, and personalized recommendations across Mail, Drive, Pass, VPN, and other Proton products.

Having everything organized in one location would make account management simpler and help users react more quickly to any unusual activity. Users looking for information about secure streaming services can also visit https://atlasprofficiel.com/ for additional resources.

This feature would improve convenience while supporting Proton's strong focus on privacy and security.

  12. Offline editing support for Proton Docs files on Proton Drive apps.

In 2024, a suggestion for introducing offline editing support for documents in general on Proton Drive was published (see https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932839-proton-drive/suggestions/48610982-offline-editing-support-for-documents-in-proton-dr).

I think this suggestion, while somewhat different, is now ever more critical with the introduction of Proton Docs in late 2025.

Please do, however, indicate whether this suggestion is best merged with the specified previous suggestion.

  13. Be able to give a name to the URL in the websites field in Proton Pass

When inputting a new login in Proton Pass it would be a great feature to be able to give a name to the websites you input. If you put in the Websites field more than one URL, being able to give each website or URL a unique name would be helpful in identifying what the URL is for.

  14. Standalone Sheets / Docs Apps in Android Play Store

Proton claims it has created sheets/docs apps, but this is not the case on Android. We have to load these files through the Drive app. You cannot create a spreadsheet in the Drive app, and the Doc creation is extremely rudimentary. This has confused Proton users and they are generally forced to use a browser on desktop to do sheets/docs. We need standalone apps on Android. That is what users mean by wanting a cloud office suite. Once there are standalone office apps, there will be huge growth in adoption of the proton ecosystem.

  15. Add Proton Desktop Apps to Mac App Store

Please provide the existing Proton Desktop Apps (additionally to the DMG-Files available on the Proton-Websites) via Mac App Store - the current update process is really annoying.

  16. Pass code, QR code, so on, timmed

Just like how QR codes work, to allow us to log into anything without needing to use our password.

We open a proton app, we can click use pass code, or QR code, or similar. We then do the rest on our phone or whatever we use.

There we can also chose "keep me signed in" or "log me out after x time".

Result? we can use proton VPN and more anywhere without compromising anything because of entering our tricentennials is not the only thing i am talking about.

I got logged out. Why? i don't know. But now i…

  17. Allow option to preview email from app notification

The option to be able to preview the email from app notification instead of having to open proton in full would be highly valued as a per user setting. Quick access is sometimes imperative. The functionality, efficiency and practicality lost by not having this option has made it difficult to switch to PM entirely.

  19. Privacy-First Accounting/Bookkeeping Module for Proton Workspace

Subject: Feature Request – Privacy-First Accounting/Bookkeeping Module for Proton Workspace

    To Proton Product Team,

I am a long-time Proton user and supporter of your mission to build privacy-respecting alternatives to Big Tech. I'm writing to propose a significant expansion of the Proton Workspace ecosystem.

    Current Gap:
Proton Workspace currently offers excellent encrypted communication and file storage, but lacks native financial/accounting capabilities. Businesses must use third-party US-based accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho), creating data leakage points where sensitive financial information is exposed to entities that monetize user data through advertising and third-party sharing.

    Proposal:
    Develop an end-to-end encrypted accounting/bookkeeping module integrated…

  20. Address Aliases

First of all, I love the email aliases future, because I'd rather not put my email on every single site I have to sign up for, and it's always as easy as removing the email if I don't want to receive emails from them anymore.

However, a very big issue I have all the time is certain sites that want you to enter your street address. This is especially annoying for sites you don't trust but that you have to sign up for and create an account if you want to make any digital purchase.
    This idea came to my…
