  1. Proton VPN Android App Privacy firewall

Trackercontrol uses a similar feature to implement a VPN to nowhere or loopback, to gain network access control over the android phone, then it can control on a per app basis what each app has access too via the network. Proton could essentially gain privacy control of all apps, preventing vanilla users from making mundane mistakes in granting access to privacy to sub-standard apps. Require users to grant access to a per app basis to a per dns(with explanation) for each app.

This could be integrated into the VPN app, so if a user uses an actual VPN, it would…

  2. Market Proton to Seniors (older people) - securing inhertance

    Proton Marketing Opportunity

In many nations there is a large amount of inherited wealth that will be transferred to younger generations; estimations of the total wealth transfer are in trillions of dollars (USD):
    https://endly.co/inheritance-statistics-uk/
    https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/business/money-report/gen-x-stands-to-gain-the-most-wealth-from-the-84-trillion-wealth-transfer/3570398/

Many older people (seniors) use older, insecure, email systems (for example, email supplied by an ISP) and, can become easy targets for fraud.

Proton's suite of solutions provide protection from fraud and can help secure inheritance transfer.

Proton could be marketed to: Seniors, Senior care facilities (as a default email option), lawyers and bundled with services for creating a will.

  3. Adding contacts manually

I've just found a raft of deleted contacts still appearing in autofill fields because they didn't delete correctly or completely. This includes the details of people who have contacted me once. In the interests of privacy, client confidentiality and clutter reduction,it would be helpful to be offered a choice when emails are received as to whether the sender's details are stored or not, with a clear, permanent deletion action.

  4. Invitations

At the moment, if I schedule a recurring event and invite a member to attend, they are automatically invited to attend every event in that sequence. I want to be able to choose to add them for a single event in the sequence or else choose whether or not and when to send out an invitation on a weekly basis.

  5. Google Meet

It would be really helpful to be able to set up a Google Meet event within the Proton Calendar OR even have a Proton version of Meet which would feel even more secure!

Standalone PDF Reader and Editor (mainly for Andorid and Linux) with integration with Drive would be nice.

  7. Proton family with user permissions and monitoring

I really want to use proton family, however I have young children. They will need an online identity at some point and I want to start teaching them now, but they are not old enough to have that own unmonitored email.

My proposal is to have an option in proton family for the admin to treat accounts as users within an organization, similar to how the business suite functions.

  8. Create a ' group ' of Proton Applications for our Android and also for our PC / Linux systems Please

I received a message about an ' update ' to Proton Email / Calendar but could not find it on the ' play store ' when I went and looked.
I also had to hunt all over this crazy Android environment to find my Proton Email 'APP ' and would LOVE some method of shoving all of them ( and hopefully an update link ) in an Android group and have the same capabilities on the PC / Linux platforms as well.
    I love this !!!

  9. Partner with Tor

Develop efficient Tor nodes that can support anonymous payments and subscription for better performance incentives. Integrate this with your existing VPN network.

  10. Include the version number of app in mail

Recently I got a mail about a new Proton Mail Android app. I clicked the link to the google store and could choose to either uninstall or open the app.

If the version number was included in the mail it would mean that I could compare it with the installed version to know if I have to watch for an update or if the update already is installed.

  12. Document and version your API

There are a lot of places where it would be amazing to integrate the whole Proton suite. For example, into Gnome Online Accounts, which would expose seamless usage of Proton services within the Gnome interface, core apps, etc.

It is already possible to do so for your the email service by exposing locally an email server through bridge and adding it as so.

There are many use cases that would benefit if you exposed an API well documented and versioned, so that the community could implement their own solutions.

  13. Accounts Switching

I think it would be nice to be able to chose between authenticated accounts straight from the menu instead of the current solution of going to another page to make your choice.
The menu would present you a list of your currently authenticated accounts and the "add account" button

  15. please answer my questions - bitte meine fragen bewantworten

    Hello

1.) How can I forward my emails from Hotmail to Proton? Unfortunately, I can only find one option here: From Gmail to Proton. Please help me with this.

    2.) Proton advertises end-to-end encryption

Our end-to-end encryption and zero-access encryption means that no >one (not even Proton) has the technical means to access your data >without your permission.

I wanted to import my emails, contacts and calendars with Easy Switch. Unfortunately, I am asked to give Proton access to everything:

Proton Easy Switch needs your consent to:
    Read your profile
Proton Easy Switch can read your profile.
    Manage access to…

  16. Support Accrescent store

I know many people here seem to want Proton to also publish on F-Droid, but F-Droid (as was also pointed out here) has some serious problems (see https://privsec.dev/posts/android/f-droid-security-issues/).

To make both the people - like me - wanting to have access to Proton Apps not just via Play Store or GitHub happy, but also to keep high security standards, Accrescent would be an awesome solution.
It is a secure and private app store that doesn't need Google Play Services and aims to be developer-friendly.

  17. Free-standing contacts app for Android

I would really like to see a Free-standing Android contacts app which would allow contacts (WITH a PIN) to be displayed without opening the PM mail. I use my contacts to track all kinds of information other than email addresses and phone numbers. On my Android phone it is a pain to unlock and open the mail app, then scroll down to contacts to get some information (like an address). A free-standing app, similar to the calendar app, would solve this issue.

  18. iOS Dark Mode Icons

Currently, app icons for Proton Mail, Proton Drive, and Proton Calendar do not support iOS 18's dark tinted icon effects, however Proton Pass and Proton VPN do.

  19. All in one desktop app

I wish instead of having 5 different services all on different platforms, all being separate entities, I wish all of the Proton Services were on one menu and one program I can download. Having to open 3 tabs for Mail, Calendar, Drive, then open an Extension or another Tab for Pass, and then a separate program for the VPN is EXTREMELY F**CKING FRUSTRATING! It's so hard to navigate.

If all of this was on one program you can download to manage all of this - Life would be miles better.

  20. Proton Pass autofill popup covers the login button.

Proton Pass has autofill which is great, but the popup is displayed over the login button which interferes with mousing over to click "login" on nearly every site.
