  1. Modernize Standard Notes

In a market with consolidated competitors such as Obsidian, Anytype, AFFiNE, among others, it is essential that Standard Notes offers real-time collaboration features, in addition to the other editing functions of its competitors.

The dated interface is also a problem. When you look at the UI/UX of competitors, you can see how Standard Notes needs a design makeover to modernize it and get it out of that dated software look.

  2. Linux supported equally

Linux is very popular among privacy concerned users, who make up a large chunk of Proton's userbase. However, Proton fails to provide any solid Linux apps and frequently leaves them unmaintained or released years after the initial product launch. Proton should make Linux a first-class platform, with proper support from day one.

  3. Inactive account policy - keep account when deleting data

    Hello proton team

I have a new suggestion regarding the inactive account policy. Instead of permanently deleting a user's account if they haven't logged in for a year, I propose an alternative approach.

The idea is to delete their data while keeping the account itself, which would minimize costs for Proton. In the event that the user logs in again at a later time, they would login to an empty account (like if they just created it), but at least they won't lose their email address.

A lot of users keep a protonmail account as a recovery email for other…

  4. Migrate to quantum resistant algorithms

Quantum computing breaking common cryptography algorithms is a future problem that will affect all data that is stolen/collected now and that contains sensitive information we may NEVER want to share

  5. Proton Family pricing options

I'm happy to see the newly released Proton Family plan! I've been waiting around for something like this for a while. However, I don't really need to support 6 users in my small family. Can we instead get pricing per member? The current pricing is about 3.33 USD per member per month, at 19.99 USD per month if you get the 2 year plan. How about flexible pricing: 2 members = 4.99 USD each, 3 members = 4.49 USD each, 4 members = 3.99 USD each, 5 members = 3.49 USD each, 6 members 3.33 USD each.

  6. Don't use Proton username when sending calendar invites

I use custom domains, partly to avoid giving any personal information to services that don't need it, and partly as an added layer of security for my Proton account. I've never (intentionally) shared my Proton username with anyone. I noticed when sending a calendar invite that it included my Proton username. Can we either get a separate field for invites, or can this be updated to use the existing user-specified display name field?

  7. Proton drive should remove "my computer" feature on PC and have a single default sync folder like MEGA.

When I use mega, I can upload my document on my mobile phone and it immediately gets downloaded on my PC mega folder. Vise versa.

Proton drive should do the same.

The "My computer" folder sync feature on PC is completely useless. Your ios app don't even have the "my computer" folder. It means I cannot access information on my mobile when I upload documents on my PC. You should make a default cloud drive folder like MEGA. Let users drag their documents to that folder, auto sync, and it should be available on all platforms. More user friendly.

    Thank…

  8. No More Privacy Washing

Proton isn’t as private as you think
Proton has a stronger reputation for privacy than Google, but that doesn’t mean that Proton's third party contractors can’t see your private information. Contrary to what you might think, Uservoice collects your private data by default. So much for “privacy by default".

    People want real privacy
Privacy washing is a shameful form of false advertising that takes advantage of people. But the fact that Proton is doing it is an indication that attitudes regarding privacy are changing. Proton users are sick of sharing their private lives with Proton's third party contractors like Zendesk…

  9. Focus on existing products

I think Proton is already spreading itself too thin with all these different products, yet there are lots of things to improve on the existing ones.

  10. A La Carte Bundling

The option to select which products you’d like to bundle.

Example, I’m only interested in Mail, VPN, & Pass and if this was a bundled option for unlimited I’d signup. Others might want something different.

  11. Improve Proton's Open source development

Proton has two great assets, the privacy respecting side and its Open source orientation.
However, some apps/services still aren't published openly (Calendar app for Android/iOS, amongst others).
    So :
    1. Make all apps and services open source
    2. Activate issues on repositories
    3. Invite community to actively participate in the development of the ecosystem
=> Proton apps become more reliable, with faster feature development and availability and it allows for greater transparency and sense of trust from the customers and community.

  13. 2FA using phone number

Double authentication (2FA) using phone number. Proton pass allows you to save authentication codes, but it's risky if you get disconnected. You have to find a solution for customers who trust you and who all have their account with you... At this point, either you take the risk of being logged out and permanently losing access to your account, or you disable dual authentication, which would make your account more vulnerable, or you have to download a dual authentication app just to log in proton.... It's a bit ridiculous

  14. Publish all Android APK to FDroid

As well as the Proton VPN APK being published to FDroid it would be helpful if all the application (Mail, Calendar, Pass, etc) APKs were posted there as well.

  15. Adding contacts manually

I've just found a raft of deleted contacts still appearing in autofill fields because they didn't delete correctly or completely. This includes the details of people who have contacted me once. In the interests of privacy, client confidentiality and clutter reduction,it would be helpful to be offered a choice when emails are received as to whether the sender's details are stored or not, with a clear, permanent deletion action.

  16. Allow family members to create new email addresses privately.

Currently the Family Plan provides a total of 90 email addresses for all family members, but the admin users must create the addresses for each member. From a privacy standpoint this is very wrong.

I recommend having an option for the admin users to allocate an amount of addresses from the total of 90 to each member. Each member should then create their own additional addresses, and the additional addresses should be only visible to each user. Family admins should not be able to see family member secondary addresses.

I purchased the Family Plan for my family because I value…

  17. Include Android APKs in all GitHub releases

For Proton Mail it's already being done:
    https://github.com/ProtonMail/proton-mail-android/releases

I'd like to see GitHub releases with attached APKs for all other Android apps as well.
This would be really helpful for people using Obtainium & similar tools.

Allow Proton mail to delete emails in Gmail in addition to just forwarding. Hopefully this isn't something google is preventing. It is available when forwarding Gmail to other providers.

  20. Recommendation: Modification of storage packages

    Recommendation: Modification of storage packages

I am not satisfied with the hosting packages:

    - 100GB
    - 200GB
    - 500GB
    -1TB
    - 2TB

    - Unlimited storage TB

    Life content packages
You have to pay the amount once for a specific storage space / function.
