Proton Browser
Proton Browser
I would Like to see a Browser like chrome, firefox, or Brave. But without the tracking and also it being based in the same location as protonmail would mean its secure and safe to use.
With companys like google buying up all the alternative browsers I think this a needed program/app. What good is the secure email when Chrome is snap shoting and keylogging your protonmail logins.

Tor, Firefox, and privacy? The comments here lead me to believe many of you truely do NOT understand what we are trying to accomplish when we speak of privacy, security, and remaining anonymous.

Would probably rather see the Proton team see if they can colloborate with the developers of the Brave browser, which has the same goals

Where's the downvote button? We’ve already got a bunch of great browsers to choose from. Chrome and Firefox can be configured to protect your privacy by tweaking the settings and installing extensions. Safari protects your privacy by default and can be enhanced with additional tracking blockers. Then there are smaller browsers like Brave, specifically designed for this purpose.

There’s already a very good option with firefox quantum. Add ublock origin, privacy badger and https everywhere for enhanced privacy
No need for ProtonMail to divert so many resources to duplicate existing solutions
If you are on IOS, install Purify or 1Blocker -

Maybe you should pair up with cliqz.

As long as it is not based on the ubiquitous Chromium engine (or whatever its name is) a secure european browser would be much needed. I don't know if a revival of the former Presto engine from Opera is technically or financially feasible but it would be great. Another option is to use the Firefox engine, because I guess that to develop an independen engine would be a too daunting task.

I agree this would be a great idea. I use Firefox but I am not sure its promises of privacy can hold up when it is a free service.

That's quite an accusation ("Chrome is snap shoting [sic] and keylogging..."). Can you substantiate it?

Should partner with Brave on this if you choose to do it vs reinventing the wheel.

Google isn't the one doing this. Some third party analytic software does keylog user interactions with the website. I can assure you those third party analytic tools are not present on protonmail.com.

Also since a browser is client software, and most internet tracking is not from the browser but from third parties, a Proton Browser wouldn't have any impact on tracking. The extensions mentioned below will.
If you're looking to conceal your physical location, consider ProtonVPN.
