Keyboard shortcuts
Authy's desktop app is (was) handy in that I could switch to the app and start typing, without using the mouse, to pull up the account for which I need(ed) a TOTP code. With Proton Pass, I have to click in the search bar before typing to search. It would be appreciated and convenient if there were a keyboard shortcut to jump to the search bar in the Proton Pass desktop app.
Additionally, it would be beneficial if there were keyboard shortcuts to jump to different fields of the desktop app and to copy or edit them, without having to use the mouse. Currently the only option for such is to repeatedly mash Tab.
Thank you, Proton, for your hard work!
This feature is a work in progress.

This is the last feature before I switch away from 1Password to Proton Pass

This isn't just about convenience. Using a hotkey rather than a browser plugin provides a firebreak between the browser and my passwords. I am very uncomfortable with a browser plugin that can access the contents of my password manager without explicit intervention on my part. I would much rather this process be based on unidirectional, explicit action.

Yes, please! An autofill keyboard shortcut is something I'm dearly missing from Bitwarden.
Proton Pass could improve upon Bitwarden by letting users customise the shortcut. Please add this, Proton Pass team.

Been loyally waiting on this for years. As someone who optimizes nearly every workflow with keyboard shortcuts, the lack of this feature is extremely painful for me.

As a former 1Password user, their desktop application featured configurable hotkeys that made it extremely versatile for filling passwords outside of the usual autofill via web form path. Specifically, you could use configurable hotkeys to bring up the search and to copy to clipboard the various parts that you might need to login.
As an example, my workflow when needing to login to something that couldn't be autofilled such as a desktop application was CTRL+SHIFT + 1 to open 1Password search, type enough of my desired entry name to bring it up in search, then I could hit CTRL + C to copy the username, CTRL + SHIFT + C to copy the password, CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + C to copy the OTP. This made it extremely convenient to fill credentials anywhere because you could bring up search, and then ALT+TAB back and forth between the app and password manager to fill the fields without your hands ever leaving the keyboard or use the mouse. It also meant you could access the password manager anywhere, not just in the browser, in a really convenient way.

This is a standard feature in most password managers. It's surprising it's not included in proton pass.

Moved to Proton Pass without knowing it didn't have this and it's killing me! The 1pass global picker is so useful.

I think it's time for me to switch back to BitWarden. Crazy that this feature hasn't been added yet.

Yep, Ctrl + Shift + L has been so useful with Bitwarden, shame we don't have anything similar for Proton Pass yet - shouldn't be difficult to implement with a 'pick top login by default'

How does Proton Pass still not have autofill shortcuts? This is literally the only thing keeping me from switching over from Bitwarden

There used to be a password manager called MyKi. One of its pioneering features was it allowed a user to be able to open up a floatable window anywhere using a hotkey to autofill/copy/search for usernames and password.
This was a great feature because you didn’t have to open up the app manually using spotlight or search for it. It was intuitive and made sense.
E.g:
- I open up discord and it asks me for my username and password.
- I click on the username text box.
- I hold command + p. It open up a mini proton pass.
- Automatically makes me focus on the a search textbox so that I can search all my passwords by domain/website.
- I search discord in this floatable window
- and it auto populates the username
- click on password and do the above and it populates my password
- done*A nice to have would be it autofills the both fields when i click on discord in the floatable window
Thanks for all the work you put into protonpass I appreciate it.

+9000 for this feature request.
Very frustrating to have to use the mouse while my hands are on the keyboard. -

This is a CRITICAL feature that Proton Pass is missing. Bitwarden hotkey will autofill the username and password plus copy the TOTP to the clipboard.

I noticed that when I try to log in to Windows applications, there’s no easy way to access the Proton password manager. It would be very helpful to have a global keyboard shortcut (e.g., Ctrl+Shift+P) that opens a floating search box to quickly find and copy credentials without needing to open the full app or browser extension.
