Improve favicon / website icon fetching for entries
When adding a website to an entry, Proton tries to fetch the favicon and display it as the entry icon. However, this does not always work — in many cases no icon is shown, even though the website clearly has a favicon or app icon.
It would be great if the favicon fetching could be improved, for example by:
• Supporting more common favicon locations and file types (e.g. PNG, SVG, app-icons).
• Falling back to higher resolution icons where available.
• Ensuring consistent results across websites.
This would make entries more visually recognizable and improve usability, especially when managing many credentials.

My OCD is literally make or break with these things. Moving from 1Password to proton pass and seeing just how bad the favicon support is makes me want to go right back to 1Password. It’s frustrating because this seems like it would be a simple fix, but it’s been a problem forever

Possibility of removing favicon/disabling it for particular record would be useful too.

Completely agree.....improving the automatic favicon URL backend data fetching would make a huge difference! I was actually pushed to visit this feedback site today after trying in vein to get a favicon for n8n.io to show up [a major automation workflow platform] to show up in Proton Pass! I tried 5–7 of their URLs with no luck. It’s frustrating when important tools just get generic initials.
I’d love to see the Proton Dev team take it a few steps further & allow us to upload our own custom favicons or logos manually for entries where the auto-fetch fails, or where we just want a more recognizable visual icon. Sometimes the initials just don’t cut it when you’re scrolling quickly through your vault! This can't be hard to do...
