Integrated Username & Identity Generator for Proton Pass
Proton Pass needs a built-in username generator to enhance privacy and anonymity, as many sites require non-identifiable usernames, for example for voting on ideas, and users currently rely on external tools like Bitwarden or LastPass, which is inconvenient and less secure.
This feature is essential for a privacy boost, since usernames can track you across services and random ones prevent this, while sites often demand unnecessary personal info like name, address, and ZIP, so generating fakes protects without hassle. It addresses usability gaps, as manual creation is tedious and external generators add steps, and it's a top reason users stick with competitors like Bitwarden, LastPass, NordPass, and 1Password. It also tackles portability issues, since email aliases are great but complicate domain switches, while simple plus-addressing plus usernames offer flexibility.
The key proposed features start with username generation in styles like random words such as sorceryrampant, plus numbers or symbols like sorceryrampant784, and leetspeak like h3110w0r1d. It should be customizable with length up to 50 characters, character sets, prefixes or suffixes like space-themed lists, and keywords, with a UI button next to the username field integrated with the password generator. For email integration, include random plus-addressed emails like user+random@proton.me or title-based, catch-all for custom domains, and combo username plus alias generation. For full identity tools, add random first and last names, birthdates, addresses with fixed ZIP or country for verification, in modes like placeholders such as NAME or STREET, static dummies, or fully random, with auto-fill during sign-ups and storage with logins for checkouts and virtual cards. Extras include granular controls, app and web support, and ethical use emphasized as user responsibility.

I'll throw in my two cents. I recently started using fakeaddressgenerator.com to make up names and addresses for registration forms that really have no business collecting my personal information. It would be fantastic if (1) the Identity feature of Proton Pass had the ability to randomly fill out fields (e.g., name, address), and (2) it was possible to associate an Identity with a Login. Managing all this in Proton Pass would be a significant boon for those looking to maximize their online anonymity.
