Apps, web apps, and extensions auto-lock and can be unlocked with a security key
Similar ideas have already been suggested, but this idea is to combine those and add the use of a security key across all apps - with Proton Pass being highest priority. Namely:
-Proton Pass (in all forms) should have configurable auto-lock timers and options for auto-lock on browser closure, app closure, computer sleep, lock, logoff, shutdown, etc
-all Proton products (in all forms) should have the above
-locked products should be unlockable with a security key (with Proton Pass as priority), but should not require password AND security key to unlock
I want all Proton products to have the auto-lock option (but configurable as above) that Proton Pass currently has, but with the choice to use a security key instead of a PIN or the overall Proton Account password.
I want to be able to log in to Proton products on a device, using normal two-factor authentication (password and security key), leave my security key in the USB slot (or have it at hand to wave for NFC), have the Proton products lock in a configurable manner, and be able to unlock them by touching the security key (waving for NFC) when prompted if I return to the product after the product has locked.
That way, when I am done with the device, I take my security key with me, and if anyone gets a hold of my device they cannot access any part of my Proton Account without the security key, even though the Account is still "logged in" (does not require a password challenge). Currently, even with 2FA enabled and a security key registered, so long as someone can bypass the local account control and unlock the device (which is outside of Proton's control and dependent upon the device manufacturer, etc), they can access all Proton products logged in on that device (except Proton Pass, but that may only be secured by a 6-digit PIN).
