Dark Theme doesn't cut it (it burns, my eyes, ouch!)
Arguably most people don't care about the theme (though by the number of votes regarding the issue of dark/light themes for the desktop app, maybe the rest still makes for a good bunch).
Though the dark theme doesn't solve it for all those who can't stand the white-lit screen of Light mode. The dark theme was a great one for those that are famliarized with and want a (near-)black background (among other things) instead of a white one I bet, though honestly that goes past the purpose of a less eye-straining choice of colors.
"Dark theme"s as they are passed around between devs cause grotesque smearing all around the spectrum of monitors/displays available in the market, with contrast-ratio's in the two-digits, non-sensical saturation of "sensitive" triggers/buttons/messages, all while sitting everything over a background that out of the bat throws skewmorphism down the bin (email, passw management, and alike ARE NOT like scrolling twitch or a text channel in discord, grow up), which makes things even more (sterile and) unbearable to look at (come on, glitch-like gray highlights with rounded corners are not a dot less opinionated of a choice).
Perhaps it would help leaving the space for the people in UI to do their research and come up with a proper alternative to the retina-burning trend of "dark-gray best, white-lit boo" (hate to break it to you, both suck equally as much). I'd pay more for it if it comes to that (certainly I am not the only one).
