Quick query on whether you use Proton Auth for Proton Mail as well
This is just something which occurred to me last night. I'm lazily in the process of migrating all my 2FA away from Authy (primarily because it has no backup function and they've ditched the desktop app which means I'm reliant on my phone only), as Proton Auth is multi-platform and seems prety effective. But I ended up in a situation last night, trying to set up the sync between my Mac, PC, and iPhone when the authoriser itself asked for the codes... luckily I still had this one on Authy, but I'm not sure what would have happened if I'd already moved it across...
And it got me thinking, are there any potential downsides to having the 2FA for my main Protonmail Account also on their Proton Authoriser? I spoke to one of the support guys last night and he said he actually recommends keeping a different one for that, but the more I think about it, I'm not sure as long as I have it on three platforms.
What do you guys think? Does that make sense? I'm very tired right now so it's probably a really bad time, but I intend to finally set up the Yubikeys I bought two years ago, as well. All advice welcome.
