I don't fully understand this site. I've just spent the past couple of hours making sure that the combination of Proton and Nord software is fully operational on my MacBook, my iPhone, and my PC. I note that Auth is supposed to be stand-alone but requires a protonmail account for them to sync... that's absolutely fine as I've had one for years. I'm just wondering will anything catastrophic happen if I were to lose my mail account? Probably not, but it does feel a bit like putting most of my eggs in one basket. Incidentally, I'm replacing Authy because they inexplicably decided to abandon their desktop versions leaving me entirely reliant on my phone for 2FA. This, on the other hand works on everything, and looks nicer.
