  1. Human verification option using audio instead of photo challenge

I'd like it if Proton would make a version of the Captcha-style verification or human verification that allows the use of audio instead of only the image challenge. I have had a concern that the images would eventually include photos of women with immodest clothing. Blocking images by default because of the very immodest ads online today is a good strategy but if that has to be switched off to do a human verification, then the shield is down. I haven't had any concerns about the images Proton or whatever verification company has been using. But the risk seems to…

  2. Add option to view all aliases in alphabetical order

Add option to view all aliases in alphabetical order because currently it only shows the most recent on top.

  3. Handle wildcard in url mapping

Could it be possible in the future to handle wildcard in url mapping ?

As a web developer, i'm using dev environments, so urls are something like https://mywebsite-pr-*.fr/. Currently, it doesn't recognize url and doesn't propose me to autofill password.

Manually search then copy the credentials is kind of cumbersome. Thanks for your time reading !

  4. Allow users to unsync SimpleLogin aliases from Proton Pass

Once you sync your SimpleLogin aliases with Proton Pass, there's currently no way to reverse or unsync them.

It would be great to have an option to disconnect or unsync SimpleLogin aliases from Proton Pass if previously you have sync them. Users should have full control over whether they want their aliases integrated or kept separate.

Being able to sync is useful, but there should also be an easy way to undo that decision if someone's preferences change later.

  5. Ability to manually adjust login details

When the program does not find matching login credentials, it should allow you to select any manually and automatically add the URL to the selected entry.

  6. Ability to edit login details while filling out

When changing login details on a website, it would be useful to be able to edit the entry selected for login.

In Bitwarden there is an option where when I click on the login or password field, the window shows proposed entries and the option to open the entire database and from there I can select the appropriate entry and edit it.
This allows you to change your email, login, or password without having to switch to the Proton app, manual search, and editing separately.

  7. Quick query on whether you use Proton Auth for Proton Mail as well

This is just something which occurred to me last night. I'm lazily in the process of migrating all my 2FA away from Authy (primarily because it has no backup function and they've ditched the desktop app which means I'm reliant on my phone only), as Proton Auth is multi-platform and seems prety effective. But I ended up in a situation last night, trying to set up the sync between my Mac, PC, and iPhone when the authoriser itself asked for the codes... luckily I still had this one on Authy, but I'm not sure what would have happened if I'd…

  8. show disabled alies when login via extension

In some situations, I disable aliases when I receive too much spam from them. But sometimes I have to use these aliases to log in to services, and I need to verify my identity via email. The extension doesn’t show that this alias is disabled, and I don’t understand why I’m not receiving the email.

  9. Authenticator: Click to show code. Hide all by default.

Currently, android Proton Authencator can work in one of two modes:
    1. Hide all codes and never display the code in the UI (even when clicked).
    2. Show all codes at all times.

    But this is not enough.

If you hide all your codes, you can only copy the code to the clipboard and use it on your phone/device. If you show all codes, you expose yourself to over-the-shoulder snooping.

A very common use case is that someone wants to keep all codes hidden by default but reveal a particular code when it's time to use it, when the user…

  10. "Create Duplicate" option should create an identical duplicate including attachments

When creating a duplicate of an entry, it doesn't actually create identically same entry, because it strip off the attachments. I have to manually add each attachment, rename every single attachment once again for duplicated entry. Here's an example use case:
If I want to share a secure note with some of attachments after months, I wouldn't share the actual entry. Instead I would create an identical duplicate entry and check every field for validity. There are scenarios where I have to remove many fields or attachments from a shared note. In case of sharing password entry, this becomes even…

  11. It's just plain stupid that I have to upgrade my whole account, just to be able to use more 2FA in Proton Pass! Really bad.

This is a very bad business decision, to force users to upgrade the whole account, just to be able to have more 2FA entries in Proton Pass! I have no use for more Drive Space or a VPN. Paying for something I don't need. But it's an easy decision once my time runs out, end the subscription. Because in my eyes it's not a good fair option.

It's cheaper to create a Free Proton Pass and Upgrade that to Pass Pro! Any logic!?

  12. "Add as.." to avoid duplicates

When I log in to a website (for example LinkedIn) I copy/paste my login from the Proton Pass plugin titled "LinkedIn" (I use Chrome), after which it offers autofill the next time I visit the website: I want that, so I click "Add".
Problem is that it then creates a new entry with a title "linkedin.com".
Similarly I have now dozens of duplicates called app.xyz.com, login.abc.ch, etc.
There should be the option to enable autofill and selecting the preexisting entry to use. Great work guys, keep it up👍🏼

  13. Hide ALL instances of passwords in UI

Using Proton Pass in public is becoming increasingly risky as more and more cameras are installed in every country around the globe. When generating a random password, there is NO REASON to display it (unless the input field refuses to accept paste from clipboard). ALL PASSWORDS in EVERY dialog and popup display should be obscured by default.

As a workaround, I have to move my windows around so that the password field is offscreen while the Regenerate and Save buttons are still on screen. Then, if using the Proton Pass browser extension, my password is displayed onscreen again in the…

  14. Custom symbols as word separator for memorable passwords

Please add the ability to use custom symbols or characters as the word separator for memorable passwords. This allows for more secure password configurations and gives users additional choice for how their passwords should look.

  15. ProtonPass Alias

Composing a new e-mail alias is not straightforward, You cannot add the alias directly to From. You have to create a reverse-alias and add a contact for the recipient. This hides the real email address.

After creating an alias email; the alias should be available in the From drop down list, to use directly.

  16. pass-cli : add support of OpenSSH private-key format

It would be great if pass-cli ssh-agent parses and serves private keys in the OpenSSH format (openssh-key-v1), since that's the ssh-keygen default (OpenSSH 7.8+ // 2018) and the only format for ed25519.

  18. Auth on macOS: Directly Go to Biometric Lock

When I opening Authenticator on macOS, I always have to click “Unlock” and then use the biometric unlocking feature. Can we go directly to unlocking without the button click? (Bonus for iOS: Maybe rename “Proton Authenticator” to “Proton Auth” so the whole app name is visible ;))

  19. Preserve creation date and modification history when importing passwords

Many password managers, e.g. 1Password, support exporting creation date and modification history along with the login information. Proton Pass ignores those fields when importing the database. Can't switch over until this is implemented.

  20. Built in keyboard for PIN (and master password) on touchscreen devices

Very easy to implement in the app while it entirely avoids the critical risks that users are exposed to when they are unaware that they're using vulnerable 3rd party keyboards.
